Character Information

Blackbird is a vampire mage. He is destitute after losing everything. He has entered the shadows to try and adjust to his new life and to make a living. He is very distrusting of new connections and is very reserved. He is not sure who is friend and who is a foe. He will open up to other infected rather quickly.

Goals

Live a normal (low-middle) life while infected. Hates being a squatter.

Maybe one day find a cure for HMHVV.

Meet his parents and siblings again to let them know that he is alive, he doesn't ever want to hurt them so its going to be a good bye.

Maybe get a pet. That might help with the crippling feeling of isolation.

Save up to buy a nice suit.

Taste food again.

Background

Rodrick Florence grew up in downtown Seattle. Both of his parents were wage slaves for Renraku. Neither ever got their Corp Limited SIN. Eventually with enough study he was accepted into Seattle University's Medical School

After graduating with a MD Rodrick began researching for Aztechnology's advanced HMHVV Lab in Seattle. It was a black site, but it was a free way for Rodrick to finish his PhD and be able to work for a AAA company, even though that company was Aztechnology.

Rodrick was working on a patient that was infected with strain I. The individual was placed in a vacuum chamber to keep it in suspended animation, of course you can tell were this story is going. One fateful day a very hungry vampire awoke from its slumber due to an error from a very clumsy worker. This clumsy worker was the first one that was drained, he was killed, silly clumsy work. A lot of workers who were not even clumsy were killed as well, but they don't pertain to this story.

Rodrick woke up in a pile of corpses in the barrens. Turned out Aztech was selling the "left overs" as they called them to the local ghoul gangs. Turns out the easiest way to get ride of bodies that are possible infected is by having ghouls dispose of them, so if any autopsy is done it will be blamed on the ghouls. That is when the ghouls found the transforming Rodrick and gave him to a vampire contact of theirs Amelie and Jean-Baptiste. When he awoke he lost complete control of himself and went on a bit of a rampage, calming down Blackbird and providing sustenance for him indebted him to Amelie and Jean-Baptiste.

Rodrick has been doing work for the Duponts since his Awakening to pay off his debt to them and to pay for his "meals". He is coming to terms with his new found powers. Much of his time is spent learning how to utilize magic. He is having to teach himself from the beginning. He spends a lot of time online watching informational trids on how to utilize magic. He has no master and its been a tough path to get were he is at. A strange black bird a crow maybe a raven, keeps appearing in his dreams teaching him. It is strange.

He was introduced to the Haven through the Duponts. He is now trying his best to adjust to the shadows. He has been constantly researching on the Matrix. He is eager to learn anything that might be a help.

This bird wont leave me alone ever since I awakened. Keeps telling to me to do things, the weird thing is it has helped me a ton in learning magic. Doesnt seem like a bad thing I like the Raven.

When he was teaching himself magic he thought that he might be a shaman. He tried summoning a beast spirit. It turns... he was not a shaman. Also he is not sure, but it seems that he angered the beast spirits.

Blackbird is a tall man about 6'2". He has dark hair and green eyes. He is a lot better looking now than he was mundane He makes sure his cloths are as clean as possible and wears casual style.

Brown armored jacket. Casual wear normally, Jeans and shirt in ok condition

Just Learned Magic	Learned magic due to his infection. He believes he is hermetic mage, but he was taught Chaos Magic by Raven and doesn't understand the difference. Uses the Matrix to learn extra and bases his experiences on.
Feelings of Isolation	No matter how many people he interacts with, the infection has created a constant feeling of isolation, if someone reaches out and acts like a friend he would be tricked easily.
Hates Aztechnology	He was taken advantage of and disposed of by Aztechnology. Really doesn't like them for this, plus Taco Temple sucks anyways. (He would kill to be able to eat Taco Temple again)
Fondness for his parents and siblings	Even after turning he has a fondness for his parents, he also has fond memories with his brother and sister. They were really good family. Just wants to see them one more time to say good bye. He doesn't want to hurt them though.
