Summary
Verdict Day is a controversial organization that emerged as a leading humanitarian aid provider in the late 21st century. Officially, the group's mission is to provide relief and support to war-torn regions and impoverished nations, particularly in the aftermath of catastrophic events known as "verdict days"—days of significant geopolitical shifts, major conflicts, or disasters that reshape national boundaries and power structures. While the organization's public image is one of neutral benevolence, its intricate web of allegiances and clandestine dealings often leave rumors about the truth of their engagements.
Secretly funded with public donations from some of the largest and most influential megacorporations - Ares Macrotechnology, Horizon, and Saeder-Krupp—Verdict Day holds a delicate balance between altruism and corporate obligation. While its leadership claims to operate with independence and maintain neutrality, the truth is more complicated. These megacorps hold immense sway over where Verdict Day can deploy its resources, often steering the organization to areas where their own corporate interests are at stake. Yet, Verdict Day strives to maintain its autonomy, occasionally clashing with its backers when they attempt to exert too much control.
At the heart of Verdict Day's operations are two immense landships, sometimes referred to as megastructures; Motherwill and Answerer. Though lightly detailed to the public, these towering facilities represent the pinnacle of humanitarian logistics. Both structures are equipped to handle a wide array of operations...
- Forestation Efforts
- Utilizing cutting-edge ecological technologies, Motherwill and Answerer are capable of accelerating reforestation and environmental restoration in regions ravaged by war or natural disaster.
- Humanitarian Deliveries
- The megastructures can deploy vast quantities of food, medical supplies, and shelter materials with remarkable speed, reaching even the most inaccessible areas.
- Search and Rescue
- Advanced drones, surveillance technology, and VTOL aircraft assist in locating survivors in dangerous and devastated zones, ensuring that aid is delivered to those in the most dire need.
- Long-range Communication
- Equipped with powerful communication arrays, Verdict Day's megastructures can re-establish communication networks in conflict zones, acting as information hubs for displaced populations and local governments.
- Refueling Operations
- Mobile fuel platforms integrated into Motherwill and Answerer allow the organization to support both its own operations and the energy needs of allies in the field.
However, the resources of Verdict Day have not gone unnoticed by governments and corporations eager to capitalize on their logistical prowess. In regions of operation, particularly in the volatile landscapes of Northwestern and Southeastern Europe and extending to the Middle East, Verdict Day's presence has often been co-opted by local military forces or private entities for shady reasons. Humanitarian convoys have been rerouted for undisclosed purposes, search and rescue operations have been used as cover for intelligence gathering, and ecological restoration projects have been twisted to displace unwanted populations or alter local resources to favor political allies.
In this murky realm of blurred intentions, Verdict Day's highly trained operatives are as much warriors as they are saviors, navigating a battlefield that sometimes even their own employees question. The organization itself has become less of a symbol for peace and more so as controlling thinly-veiled, third party, deniable asset superiority weapons.
Goals
- Bring humanitarian aid where it is needed
- Offer peaceful transitions from wartime to peace time
- Help impoverished communities rebuild after disasters

Leaders
- Lisbeth Seere
- Seere is a SINner from France who helped start Verdict day back when it was an tech startup named Babel. She was the lead designer of Motherwill, and helped with the engineering that led to its initial creation. Secretly, she is an emerged technomancer who has used her technomancy to help create a better world; at least, this is what she thinks. She leads the humanitarian outreach portion of Verdict Day, trying to utilize both Motherwill and Answerer to help those in need.
- Nicholas Ray
- Ray, a UCAS SINner, is the lead designer behind Answerer, who created the project in order to help shelter those away from harm after ecological or geological disasters. He pioneered Tsunami defense systems and used his efforts for the better of humanity, always seeking a way to include nature in his engineering. Ray joined with Seere after learning of their ideals, and the two collaberated to first build and release Motherwill. He leads the military and intervention portion of their organization.
- Nadia Raytheon
- Ratheon, an Ares corporate limited SINner, was added in as a 'deciding' factor, since Seere and Ray would always clash in their ideals. Since two votes would often end in the tie, she was added to the group not only because of her genius in engineering, but also because of her Seer and Divination abilities that allowed her to help the team predict when the next disaster might strike. She leads the their magic division and helps guide Nicholas to where to lead the 'militant' portion of their organization.
Background
Allies
- Ares Macrotechnology
Ares Macrotechnology’s relationship with Verdict Day is deeply rooted in its corporate vision of projecting power and securing influence in unstable regions. Ares views Verdict Day as a valuable partner for stabilizing areas where military force alone would generate backlash, using the organization as a means of "hearts and minds" diplomacy. By providing funding, Ares gains indirect influence over Verdict Day’s deployment zones, particularly those ripe for military or economic exploitation. For Ares, Verdict Day is a way to keep potential competitors and hostile elements in check without overt displays of force. In return, Verdict Day benefits from Ares’ technological support, including advanced security systems, armored vehicles, and cutting-edge weaponry for protection during high-risk missions. Ares primarily utilizes Ms. Raytheon as a bargaining chip in their efforts to try and get deployments as they want, while also lending a mighty wallet.
