Character Information

One of many cyborgs constructed and designed by Ares for a menagerie of reasons, CURIE is a relatively new bot on the scene. Recently she’s started noticing changes in her condition, once a stony-faced cog who only served to obey commands at the behest of the company- this borg has started discovering more and more about themselves with each passing day!

Afraid of the struggles of fitting in with modern society, and also trying to explore the sensation of ‘fear’ more directly in and of itself- she’s begun to integrate herself with the local runner community in an effort to pursue these strange errors in her directive that she finds.. Fascinating and- weirdly exciting!

Summary

CURIE is a cyborg that has just started to experience feelings and emotion for the first time in her life. The turbulent wash of change has led her to pursue a life amongst human and metahuman alike in an effort to learn more about what it means to live like one of them- how to handle these strong and compelling sensations, the good and the bad that they may bring, all whilst keeping this a secret from the company that made her.

Goals

- Figure out more about this whole ‘feeling’ thing, and what it might mean for her future.
- Chase the thrill of being the fastest being on the Haven.
- Try to keep her new discoveries under wraps from Ares, fearing that they might ‘fix’ her.
- Make friends, find ‘love’.. Whatever that is – and, oh! Make a baby laugh!

Background

Being a relatively newly introduced borg, Echo-Omega stands as the latest unit in her branch of specially designed combat drones. Recently activated, she retains no knowledge of who she was before she was… Well… Her! The world was new, exciting- though exciting was never included in her directive.

An experimental practice in the use of cyborgs, Echo-Omega had been released upon the streets of Seattle in order to handle small muscle and infiltration jobs for Ares as a test of capability. While not inherently ground-breaking, she was useful cannon-fodder when the company didn’t want to shove out the money for more… Fleshy soldiers.

Despite her short time in Seattle as of yet, already certain ‘bugs’ have started arising in E-O’s programming. Certain sensations never before experienced by the lifeless bot until just recently, adrenaline, endorphins, all confusing and new and… Scary…? She didn’t know what the definition was, but it felt weirdly fitting- and even more so exciting!-- Oh! Another new one!

Suddenly awash with questions, CURIE - acting independently from Ares in her free time- has started integrating with the more accepting community of runners in underground Seattle, desperate to find answers- why is this happening- what are these feelings- how many are there?

Born Rich, Dealer Connection (Drones), Black Market Pipeline (Ciro Reyes, Vehicles) - Being a corporate asset comes with at least a few perks, offering her decent access to resources a borg might need. This, in turn, also makes her feel partially indebted to Ares for basically her entire existence.

Negative

Records on File (Ares), SINner (Corporate)(Ares) - CURIE belongs to Ares as one of their assets, costing no small amount of money, she tries to keep out of trouble in order to stay under the radar while she operates in Seattle, not wishing to be sent back- worried about being reset, disabled, or ‘fixed’ in any sense.

Appearance

Curie looks to be an average faceless drone for those who know her as a cyborg, with a smooth, glassy and dome-like facial case. Her body is thin and sleek, but humanoid in makeup so much so that she could easily pass for a heavily wared-up woman.

Clothing

Looks to be wearing a sort of armored catsuit (Cyborg Infiltrator Armor) beneath a cropped jacket that seems to serve little purpose beyond fashion (Designer Cloak). The jacket has a fur collar that cozily rests around her drone head, the sleeves are long enough to cover her hands about halfway, and from the back dangles two tassels of fabric with buckles at the end that loosely hang without purpose.

Upon her feet look to be sneakers (purely cosmetic, the soles are her actual feet) with a flat bottom containing skimmers and retractable roller blades (Sharpened for combat).

Matrix Persona

A relatively humanoid looking individual dressed in typical Graffiti artist wear- a messy, paint-splattered hoodie, a gas-mask and goggles, ripped tights, and roller blades.

Ares Puppet	Curie is a cyborg created and owned by Ares, she serves them loyally for the moment but might be conflicted if operating under Ares’ orders would put newfound friends or loved ones in danger. She’s terrified of what might happen should Ares discover that she was gaining independence, and tries to do as she’s told.
Curious, Confused Cat	Curie has zero social skills in society and that may frequently leave her in compromising situations. If ever expected to operate as a face, she can and will fail miserably in her attempts to desperately understand human nature and act accordingly. Good for funny hijinks, bad for high stakes!
Found Family	Curie comes from a line of cybernetic units designed for various purposes (She’s related to Getaway and Artemis in this fashion, but not by blood), to this end she sees her fellow Ares cyborgs as her family, and is slowly coming to develop a love for them that could prompt stronger emotional experiences if they were endangered, treated unfairly, or if she felt betrayed by them. Worth exploring in character!
