Background

Montavius' parents were both expert doctors with considerable skill, wealth, and influence, both working out of private clinics in Winnipeg. When their child came to the age of 14, both his parents got offered lucrative positions as higher ups in a new DocWagon Acute Care Clinic that was opening up in Seattle. They both accepted, and Montavius was brought along with them. Despite the change in scenery, he adapted quickly to the even higher standard of living his family enjoyed, and spent the remainder of his youth socializing with other corporate children, attending dinner parties and the like with his parents, and honing his intellect through rigorous schooling. Through a combination of above average academic achievement and the influence of his now-corporate parents, Montavius studied medicine at the University of Washington. After graduating, Montavius was immediately offered a job at his parents corp, DocWagon, and due to his fantastic physical capabilities including a skill in firearms he obtained from practice as a rich youth, it wasn't long before he was transferred to High Threat Response. Working as either medical staff, team security, or both depending on what was needed. It was with DocWagon that he earned the nickname "Starfish", after a comment that he could make almost everything grow back during a call that required more than a few limbs restitched. After 2 years of service with a nearly spotless track record, even the danger and high stakes of High Threat Response started to seem routine, and left little time for other hedonistic pursuits. In addition, it was becoming apparent his room for advancement within the company was small. One night while unwinding from the stresses of his latest shift, Starfish received an anonymous message from an unknown Johnson. The offer was fairly straightforward, be the medical and combat support for a few teams of quasi-legal operatives for a few much more interesting jobs, and in exchange make a hefty sum of nuyen, no longer have to worry about his Corporate SIN, and be set up with contacts to start making a name for himself in the shadows. With his SIN burned, a few runs under his belt, and enough money to afford cutting edge biological enhancements, Starfish is now ready and eager to experience the world without corporate interference.
