Character Information

Summary

Breeze is a high-altitude industrial mechanic by day, and a quiet infiltrator by night. He prefers work at heights, and dislikes meeting new people.

Goals

  • Afford a place with a good view. Like a penthouse.
  • Free solo climb the Space Needle
  • Figure out what Spider has planned
  • Make peace with the Seattle earth spirits

Background

Dwarves are stereotypically well-connected. Breeze is not. Even as a child, he would rather climb a tree or chase a butterfly than play with friends. His father called him a squirrel Dwarf. His mother called him a head-in-the-clouds Dwarf. As an adult, Breeze found work in the industrial sector tolerable. Long stretches of manual labor where he didn't have to talk to people much. He learned to operate machinery. He learned to weld. He learned to rig pulleys. Contract after contract, he did his job and moved on. One day, he got an offer to retrieve something from a job site. Since he was technically already illegal as a SINless dwarf, it was an easy hop to start taking illegal jobs. Welding, repairwork, infiltration, a job is a job. As long as Breeze keeps his head down, legality is for someone else to worry about.

Narrative Significant Qualities

Positive

  • Mentor Spirit (Spider): Suspened in a harness, welding together a metal scaffold, Breeze imagines he's a little spider. He builds his web in the metal forest of Seattle. At 6PM, the jobsite shuts down, and Breeze will head home. At 8PM, Breeze will be back with 3 other runners for a different sort of job. It's a good plan. Quiet. Structured. Spider will be pleased.

Negative

  • Basement Attic Dweller: People are unpredictable. New people even more so. Breeze spends his time away from people, preferring to be high on a rooftop, away from the chaos below.
  • One Born Every Minute: Breeze has a difficult time telling when someone is lying.
  • AVRse: Breeze dislikes VR. He's seen too many people lose touch with reality.
  • Spirit Bane: Spirits of Earth: A few years ago, while working a construction site, Breeze excavated an anticline dome that was (unbeknownst to him) home to a small group of earth spirits. Since then, Breeze has experienced strange occurrences such as inexplicable rocks in his shoes, an unusually high number of pot-holes while driving, and broken ceramic bowls appearing in his apartment.

Character Plot Hooks

Here are characteristics of the character that GMs may take advantage of to add complications to runs, or to otherwise use when in use. If you want to use them in unrelated to runs, please ask first.

Aspect Information Related Run(s)
Bird Watcher Knows the local bird species, but may get distracted by a rare or out-of-place bird species.
Asocial Will take a less appealing option if it means he can avoid interacting with unfamiliar people. Note, he's not antisocial. He doesn't hate people. He just typically prefers his own company.
