Summary
MCT contracts a group of runners do steal something from an armored truck piloted by an Brain in a jar rigger. The catch? The Brain in the jar can't know off the bat that the theft was successful
Background
FedBo creates a new experimental mana-battery, and MCT wants it for what can only be good reasons, this narrator assumes. However, MCT wishes to do more than just steal it, they want to do some electronic warfare as well. And also absolve their hands of the blame. And so the runners enter the picture
The Meet
The runner meets at a seedy Dive Bar. Where the Johnson gives the details. There is a armored truck leaving a FedBo facility to another location, and the runners have to hit the convoy and steal a precious cargo in the back. However, the Johnson not only wants the cargo, but also wishes for it to be swapped a la Indiana Jones. Because the swap has to be convincing, the caveat is that the on-board brain (OBB) can not know that the back of the car is breached. The Johnson gives the hacker of the group, Epsilon (God help us all), a chip that if downloaded onto the OBB, would cause it to forget enough memories for the OBB to not report the loss of the battery, provided the crew is able to upload the virus.
The Plan
The Crew decides, after a ton of discussion. To first obtain details of the car. And decide to raid the FEDBO facility in order to get speccs on the car. With Epsilon running Matrix Security, Limitless and Lanky manage to sneak into the facility. And Epsilon and Intercession run a sensor sweep on the vehicle once the stealth pair find it. They find out that the car lacks a motion sensor, but has at least an Assault Cannon. The pair plan a course of action. To cause traffic on the highway and force the vehicle into a section of road where it can be ambushed. Lanky will infiltrate the vehicle from the top, while the others assualt the convoy as loudly as possible so that the the OBB doesn't notice Lanky
The Run
The Infiltration goes off without a hitch despite some close calls and some edge used in order to avoid the drones. They learn the vehicle does not have motion sensors, but is heavily armed. Oh, and the car can fly. What. Sure whatever.
On the day of the action, The crew then uses spike strips to cause a mild accident on the highway, and in doing so, forces the car into a less congested and more easy to assault area.
The crew uses a combined assault, which allows Epsilon's shotgun to break the axle of the car, slowing it down considerable. Intercession then starts beaming noise so that the rigger cannot call for help. However, the OBB is utilizing what is known as "Rigger BS" and engages the crew with first an Assault Cannon, and then when Epsilon runs to the canon and bricks it by enacting Bugs Bunny logic (and skinlink dataspikes), the OBB decides that switching to your Archon Heavy Laser is faster than reloading, and starts blasting.
Fortunately for our living target practice Epsilon and friends, they don't have to defeat the OBB and his lasers of doom. While Lanky base jumps ontop of the car and quietly opens the back. He manages to unlock the maglock with Epsilon's help and makes the swap with the OBB non the wiser. Unfortunately, the OBB, in danger of their second weapon bricking and the axle being destroyed, decides to employ the flying part of their flying truck. Lanky makes it out fine, but Epsilon almost gets knocked out by Ford Americar, becoming the laughinstock of HAven and the world over.
On the exfil. Zero gets questioned by cops, and has no choice but to book it. In a rare show of restraint, the cops decide to use tasers on the the Ork, and Zero almost gets zapped and arrested, but manages to lose the cops.
Aftermath
The crew meets with the Johnson who is happy about what happened. The rest happens after:
-An experimental mana storage cell is stolen from FedBo by MCT for reverse engineering; as well, MCT malware is covertly uploaded to Paine Field's servers, which takes several hours to discover and purge. -Zero is identified as carrying a FN P93 by KE officers responding the the robbery, but manages to escape pursuit by fleeing into the OU; a general APB is put out for a one-eyed ogre matching her description.
