The Black Lodge has decided to dispatch a team of shadowrunners to a materialized alchera in the Giza plateau to obtain an ancient bronze age epsilon axe. Thalia Sandoval is tasked with hiring and supporting a team from the Shadowhaven in Seattle. Thalia interviews the team and has one final divination to ensure the team has a method of returning from the alchera. She provides briefing documents summarizing what the Lodge believes to be accurate, several ritual items, The Book of the Dead, the Coffin texts, and the Pyramid texts. Thalia's network of contacts provide transportation to and from Cairo on a Global Sandstorm corporate jet, lodging at the Cairo Rose Hotel, a passenger van and two flunkies. Surveillance gear, and armor are provided on arrival.
The runners successfully complete the ritual to trigger the displacement alchera in pyramid G2-a and are displaced to the Crypt of Apophis. The runners use protective rituals to avoid confrontation with Sha animals and guardian spirits but are forced to combat an Avatar of Ammit, and three Scorpius demons before the final confrontation with an Avatar of Apophis. After successfully vanquishing their foes, the team returns with the axe to the surface and return to Seattle with their rewards.

After several months of investigation and research, both licit and otherwise, Thalia Sandoval and the Black Lodge believe they have devised a method to enter the alchera generated by Halley's Comet in 2062. There were persistent rumors that there existed displacement alchera on the Giza plateau connecting to stable materialized alchera within the limestone caverns of the plateau. After intensive use of divination, psychomentry, and Whisper of Bones as well as electronic and metahuman surveillance and questioning the Lodge is ready to deploy a team of runners into the alchera.

The prospective team meets Thalia Sandoval and security consultant Elle Palms early in the morning at [[The Public House]]. After negotiating payments and terms the team agrees to go on the expedition and return with the axe and complete audio/video feeds. Elle Palms divines what glyph is used to return to the surface and confirms that it is the Eye of Horus. The team is offered further divinations for questions of their own but foolishly declines free legwork. Thalia and Elle leave and the team returns to their homes to prepare for the flight to Cairo.

Team uses the flight to phonetically memorize protective prayers and cantrips from the Book of the Dead, the Coffin texts and the Pyramid texts. Hakim orders armor from Husni al-Mostafa. Upon arrival Mystic Murray arranges to meet Zeena al-Amini at a local shisha
bar so that she ca provide a comprehensible explanation of alchera and Egyptian mythology. She reveals the Book of Overthrowing Apophis and the ritual of defilement.
The next day the team triggers the displacement and enter the crypt. The use the glyph of the Sha animal and an incantation to ward off four Sha animals. They then use the eye of Horus and a prayer to ward off four Egyptian guardian spirits. They are attacked by an Avatar spirit of Ammit but defeat it with relative ease. When the team finally reaches the cave containing the avatar they are also confronted by three Scorpius demons. The runners finally defeat the three demons after a challenging slugfest. Mystic Murray attempts to use the ritual of defilement but is unable to spit upon Apophis. Dry mouth perhaps? Nonetheless the avatar spirit is defeated and the axe obtained.
