Once an Ares Company Man, Plug was framed for a major security breach and now lives in the Shadows, trying to make it big or die trying.

Background

Sometimes, life isn't fair. And when you're born in an Arcology to a pair of low-grade nobodies, you get to realise that fact from day one, like Dick Powers did. Slaving in studies during his youth, it seemed he would go nowhere just like his parents, but after completely pummelling another kid in his class over an insult, security took an interest in making the kid Ares quality. He was taken in for an alternative security education course until the day he turned 18, ending up a Company Man - a position he quite enjoyed. He was damn good too, ending up going all the way over to Detroit so he could be part of the main Ares Macrotechnology team, which ended up introducing him to the greatest friend he ever knew: Jack Rollins, a fellow Company Man. The two worked together for years on end, becoming near inseperable when on the job. Then everything went to shit.

A moderately powerful pencil pusher needed to deal with a loose element, and they believed Plug was the perfect man for the job. It was under the table, quiet, and simple, so it should've been easy. However, when the data sent pulled up Jack's face, things got a lot more complicated. He planned to bring every single bit of it to light, but before he could even try to go to his handler, a security breach broke out...and he was the one blamed. No matter what he argued, all fabricated evidence pointed to him, with only one man on his side in Jack. However, once Jack told him that he didn't just want to be friends, but lovers, the sheer confusion and distress left Dick with only the resolve to flee, and flee he did. He burnt his SIN with a few of the illegal contacts assassins like him were expected to make and took the way back to Seattle, a bounty on his head, and a desire to get back for what Ares had done to him strong in his heart. But whether he'd ever have the chance or die in the Shadows like so many other Seattlites would remain to be seen, because the Shadows don't give second chances.

Narrative Significant Qualities

Positive

One Trick Pony (Finishing Move): Plug believes that the one thing Gun Kata is missing is a sickass Trideo star finisher, and has found a way to incorporate such moves into his version of the style.

Negative

Outspoken Favour Towards Female-presenting Metahumans: Plug fashions himself a lady's man, and while he has the charm of a wet stick, he never gives up in that regard, making him an easy play for the feminine sort.

Mild Phobia Against Magic: Having seen what magic can do given his time working as a Company Man, Plug doesn't like it that much. He won't rant and rave against the Awakened, but gets the heebie-jeebies whenever sorcery is afoot.

Records on File (Ares) & Wanted: 35,000¥ by Ares: Framed for a crime he didn't do, Plug is on the run from one of the Big 10 themselves. Ares wants their investment back, and they plan to get it one way or another.
