The violence in Redmond took an explosive turn last night as confrontations between the Ancients and Cutters have continued to spiral in scope and bloodshed. In the past week, the Ancients took a offensive position northeast of Glow City, a beachhead used to bombard Cutters power centers in the area. Residents of Redmond have scattered for safety as mortar fire rocked the zone east of Sophocles. Cutters forces made several attempts to assault the Ancients, yet were repelled with significant losses.
However, last night, an explosion rocked the Ancients' position, collapsing the building they were sheltering in, lighting up the night sky, and raining debris and shrapnel down in a wide area. The source of the explosion is still unknown, yet speculation on the ground runs rampant. Reports of small arms and preliminary explosions have been reported, lending credence to the claims of an infiltration team sabotaging the encampment. Regardless, an eerie calm exists over the ruins, a stark contrast to the violence of the last few days.
