{Fyz's Note: For RP purposes, Synergy tries to do business on his word and a handshake.  He wants to fight the corporate system, not the world.  This translates to honoring his agreements and trying to be focused on the scope of his missions, minimizing collateral human or other damage.  He is not yet so jaded that he still tries to get to the non-lethal solution.  I thought of going with Code of Honor over SINner, but either would fit the character concept.  I could see a string of runs possibly wearing down Synergy's morals, but it's not something I actively have planned for him at the outset.}

Character Information

Summary

Ex-corporate Project Manager framed by Division VP during a botched competitor extraction. Chose team survival over SOP. Now leverages corporate logistics knowledge, high-class negotiation, and tactical coordination to lead the crews in the Seattle sprawl.

Goals

Try to use the skills he has to keep his life as normal (cushy) as possible.

Get a car so he can stop with the public transit.

Improve his finances to regain his lifestyle from back in the corporate days.

Fight the corporate system that tossed him aside so quickly.

Background

Marcus McKenzie was a project manager for Mitsuhama Computer Technologies working out of the Tukwila, Seattle office.  He started out in the managerial track for young hotshots and was making decent progress.  He was placed in charge of a data extraction mission targeting Horizon, working as coordinator and corporate liaison for the runners.  Once the mission started to get interesting, Mark buckled down to extract the team, rather than abide by corporate SoP directing him to cut ties with the team.  Two of the runners survived to be extracted , Nuke, the team's street samurai and Spike, the teams cyber hacker.  Once corporate caught wind of the snafu, the regional VP the department manager fire Mark.  To help cover the record corporate compliance team falsified records to show that Mark was at fault for project's failure.

Left with little but his condo and few belongings, Mark turned to the runners he had helped to begin to piece his life back together.  Nuke was surprised that a corp man would risk himself on behalf of the team and felt he owed the guy one.  So he  took Mark under his wing and guided him into the world of Shadowrunners, this time from the shadows.  Mark took on the alias Synergy as both a reminder of his corporate days and a nod to how he hopes to help teams in the future. Choosing not to fix his fortures to MCT any longer, he works with the fixer Daisuke Watanabe of Shiawase instead.

Shadow Community Table

Threshold Result
1 Synergy is a relatively new runner who has lead a couple minor teams on anti-Corp jobs, based out of Seattle.
3 Synergy is Marcus McKenzie, ex-MCT employee. Since leaving MCT, he has lead a few small, relatively low risk initiatives capitalizing his skills, contacts and experience gained in the corporate world. Records seem to indicate he does not have much experience on projects focused on gangs.
5 Synergy is Marcus McKenzie who was in charge of a failed-MCT data extraction run for which he was set up to take the fall. He still talks with a couple people from the old office time to time, but has not informed them of his switch to shadowrunning. He has lead a couple successful minor runs since then from the shadows, relying on his networking and leadership skills to support his teams. He hasn't gone back on a contract once he has agreed to it. All of his work to date has been in the corporate sector, so he is less familiar with seedier gang activities (i.e. recreational drugs, human trafficking).

Appearance

Clothing

Typically dressed in a tailored suit looking like the aspiring corporate manager-wanna be he used to be. Looks like he might have jumped out of the pages of a Charles Tyrwhitt catalog if such things were around in 2087.
