The Food Truck
A GMC Armadillo, outfitted with a food truck window and all the interior cooking equipment needed.
This Food Truck does not have a routine location where it is always present. It appears all over the city, perhaps once a week on average, at spots where food trucks can legally operate, with notices to its ever growing fan community on the matrix. The slogan to sign-up is "Follow the Yellow Ribbon." On the matrix, lines of yellow ribbon radiate out miles from the location of the food truck whenever it is open like beams of sunlight, or a yellow ribbon road, that fans can follow to the truck.
Fans who sign-up receive an electronic newsletter, including coupons, and free treats if they refer a friend.
The carry-out boxes (individual size, half-dozen, and dozen), plates, napkins, and cups are white and yellow striped. The cupcake wrappers are also white and yellow striped.
Business owners and other customers can reach out to the truck's owner to schedule an appearance nearby, or for deliveries of special orders, or for event catering. A business can also request a custom muffin or cupcake referencing their brand or product.
The advertising always includes a commcode number to reach the truck's owner.
The Owner
The food truck is operated by Melanie White, a purple-haired elf with a bright smile, and a tendency to sway along with the truck's vintage tunes as she bakes.
Many on the Shadowhaven know her better as Moth, which is her runner name. She is a very skilled baker.
She has all the licenses needed to operate legally, including a business license, vehicle & drivers license, food handlers permit, and a health department license to operate.
The Menu
The menu is visible on the matrix to anyone near the truck.
In addition to the standard menu, there are usually three specials for the day. A new breakfast muffin, a new entree muffin, and a new cupcake. The featured items often reflect the neighborhood, a local business sponsoring an appearance, or the month or season or an upcoming holiday.
These specials are also advertised on the matrix to the surrounding area.
Muffins and cupcakes can be purchased individually, or in packs of six, or twelve. Each pack can be a selection of any muffin or cupcake presently on the menu. Large orders (50+), deliveries, and event catering require at least twenty-four hours notice.
