Background

Ian was born to a junkie mother and a father he never met. He grew up as another street rat, life spent between a street education, dodging gangs, and trying to make ends meet. It was during these trying times that he met Morgan: the woman had an aura about her, and promised that the young Urchin had power and potential that only she could unlock. Of course Ian followed her, performing minor tasks for the older woman to earn her trust.

These tasks became more demanding with each one. Ian quickly fell into lying, theft, coercion, and violence. With his initiation rites over, Ian went with Morgan to her commune at a Bellevue Estate and trained to harness his magic. The potential that the sorceress had been testing turned into a weapon. He became a recruiter, a negotiator, and an enforcer. At first he didn't realize that he had joined a coven of dark magicians; then he didn't care. He revelled in the acts, in the power, and in the company of his fellows.

The arrangement continued until, as dark mages tend to, Morgan earned the ire of someone powerful. The team of shadowrunners hit their compound before they'd realized what was happening. Like thunder they had arrived, and he desperately tried to fend them off. As he duelled the runner team's own adept, the rest of his coven left him. In the end, he'd been a pawn, and left as such.

He lost his fight, and was left unarmed and bleeding. Surprisingly, the team that had attacked the compound decided to spare his life. This act of charity and forgiveness showed him another path from someone with the same gifts he was given. Taking on the alias "Cambion", he decided to start a new life running the shadows.

Big Regret & Adept: Cambion shuns the fact that his powers were learned from a Dark Magic commune, actively hiding this information.
