Summary

Members of Pixy Squad are looking to have someone kidnapped, and the runners are called in to help extract them. Preferably silently, but a comedy of errors and lack of common sense turns this stealthy encounter to a bloody shootout that leaves the Js wishing they hired someone more competent. Though, the runners are payed, no worries are spent. But, who are your employers?

Background

There are those in our city who work in the shadows, there are those who work with the shadows, too. The Unseelie are playing games, preliminary, an opening act, to the main course of the combat and clash ahead. S3I, the Unseelie, something is happening and there are runners and others caught in the middle. This is another 'trick' played on someone, thanks to the golden eyed one.

The Meet

The meet at the 'copper drake' went mostly without issue, but the J had no commlink and so Silver Lining was unable to chat. In that situation, the golden-eyed J stood up and loomed over Heartbreak. "Make a pact with me" she spoke, and the team was wholly unnerved. They tarried not more than they needed to, and agreed to extract someone for the golden-eyed J. With this, they were on track to seek and bring back the target, and get payed for it, too.

The Plan

Hearbreak and Sivler lining did matrix searching and fly spy scouting. The initial search revealed lots of information about the target, and where they work. Unsure of working with the J, they thought to scout out the building slowly, sneak in and figure things out.

The Run

However, that was no the case, as an initial scouting had the team caught as soon as the flyspy entered the facility, weather they know it or not. A matrix jaunt also gets caught, and so the combat ensues. The guards search while the decker engages Silver lining in a battle that nearly destroys their deck. Heartbreak ends up running inside to nab the target, but the 4:1 ratio of guards to heartbreak lead them to be quickly captured and subdued.

The run almost ended in failure, until someone stepped in to stop Heartbreak from blabbing. Silver Lining blasted the Decker's gear, and a mysterious agent revived and saved heartbreak from being arrested by Knight Errant. In that moment, the team was able to escape, but S3I was hot on their trail.

Aftermath

Ducking and weaving through the streets of seattle allowed the runners to escape, but this was not without pause. In the car, they were dressed down by the operator who worked with the J, all the while the runners drove back to Redmond. Being stopped at a checkpoint, they were almost done for, but Silver lining and Heartbreak teamworked a con to get through the gates.

Back at the copper drake, The Golden-Eyed-J caught the runners in an illusion and mindlink, which allowed them to talk. The J started to go off and off, seemingly lost in her own world. The runners, dissing the J and her team with some vicious mockery, left with the money in tow, while the Golden Eyed J continued to watch them. Always watching.
