Character Information
Summary
Originally from the DeeCee sprawl, Hawk worked as a freelance contractor supporting the capital's Urban Militias until she went and pissed off a congressman. Skipping town to let the heat die down, the rigger has found herself on the other side of the continent, selling her services to Seattle's shadows.
Goals
Background
Despite growing up a poor DeeCee kid, Hawk always felt like she was a cut above the rest. Faster, smarter, meant for something better. Not content to waste her life selling soyritos, she ignored all the lessons her parents told her about doing the right thing and started boosting cars with some friends. Born with superhuman reflexes and equipped with whatever stolen car struck her fancy that day, Hawk became a rising star of the sprawl's street racing scene and only got better as she funneled prize money into ware to further enhance her talent.
Of course, she knew that couldn't last forever. She'd gotten lucky so far, but eventually the FedPols would bust her if she slipped up and stole the wrong ride. Or if a stray bullet hit someone who actually mattered during a race. Or if a jilted rival snitched after getting beat. Or any number of other things that could land her in a whole world of trouble. So she went legit, or as legit as she could while maintaining her sense of freedom, selling her services as a rigger on contract to the various security forces and militias operating within the sprawl.
It wasn't quite as exciting as street racing (barring a few incidents that ended up costing Hawk an arm and an eye), but the money was consistent and more than enough to keep Hawk living the good life. Unfortunately, that all recently came to an end. While on a short term contract with a mercenary group reinforcing one of DeeCee's Urban Militias during a period of civil unrest, Hawk got caught in bed with a senator's wife instead of doing her job. Certain that her life would soon be made a living hell because of the ensuing scandal, the rigger sold everything she couldn't fit in her truck and fled DeeCee, eventually finding herself in Seattle.
