Summary
The Red Hot Nukes got more than they bargained for when they invited Shadowhaven runners to help them rig a race and neighborhood throwdown.
Background
The Red Hot Nukes continue to maintain their new foothold between Avondale and Hollywood in a block the Crimson Crush used to technically occupy but not actually provided a presence on. The Nukes moved into a bar about 6 months ago and turned it into a bustling night spot for their drop off trade run by the OG leader, Grinder's Nephew, Clutch. Clutch used the annual Halloweener festivities as an excuse to solidify his hold on the club and block and hired a handful of runners and invited a bunch of friendly and semi friendly gangs to do a neighborhood race with them.
The Meet
A rowdy party including bombing the sewers for ghouls and every bordering gang throwing down hard in the streets to watch the race as the team arrived, made their way updaters and talked to Clutch about the situation. Negotiating a couple clips of stick and shock and a stake in the race, they accepted the payment offered as a chance to go show some gangers what's what on the street.
The Plan
Check out the other cars, raise hell on the track once they pull ahead.
The Run
The team was more than evenly matched for the assembled gangs and street scum, as well as the Federated Boeing ringer drone car and ally in the race. Oberon and Geodesic driving pulled out ahead of most of the pack, with the Ancients, Nukes, "Brain eaters" (an AI in a schoolbus), The Greys in a Yerzed out UFO looking Krime Detruck, a few Rusty Stilletos, keeping pace with the Federated boeing car for a few minutes until they absolutely pulled out ahead when Verees jammed the car knocking offsite rigger offline.
Veles spotted a weener ambush and dampened the fire before the team rolled into it on the third pass. Showdown had control of the Greys UFO quickly with technomancer powers on the pass, but kept it in the race until the ambush, crashing it into the weener bicycles. The team ended up splitting the finish line, with Geo taking an edit and officially winning the race for the Shadowhaven team.
Aftermath
The nukes have a new hardass, the greys are out a truck but look great, the Nukes have a lock on their new neighborhood, some weeners had a bad night and know what redmond corrirdors are hostile for burn night. Geo got a little public recognition.
