Background

Aleksandra Malkovych was born in Melitopol' Ukraine to a pair of incredibly doomed parents - a vory bojevik and a yakuza enforcer. Not long after her birth, the family moved out to the UK to the quiet sprawl of Chester. Ultimately, their names would be forgotten, as with their faces as time went on, lost to time as they both died within a week of eachother when Aleksandra was only 3 years old. Her dad in a carbombing, her mother gunned down in the street. She was sheltered from the bullet hail only by the front of a parked car.

Taken into police custody briefly as the deaths of her parents were investigated, the toddler could provide no real assistance to the matter, and she was put into the British Foster System, and under police scrutiny for the next two years of her life. However, due to linguistic barriers and an incredibly unstable "home" life, school would never hold for her - not even preschool. She wouldn't even end up adopted. At six she fell into the criminal elements of england, her english starting to finally pick up after much effort from the marm. She found herself as a mule and pickpocket, stashing away her money young and holding onto it for dear life. As time grew on, being a mule shifted to being a dealer. To being a chip dealer. To ferrying arms. At forteen while she was away on business, long having left the shelter of the orphanage, her gang's hideout was raided by the police.

She was smart. She had saved. And she still had product laying about in a few caches. She was solo now, and while she had learned a lot in her time in the gang, she also knew that it was time to bounce. At sixteen, with a lil more cash in her pocket and surprisingly sparkly rap sheet (she had never been a fan of violent crime) - Sasha made her way to Seattle by plane.

Aleksandra's next few years were turbulent. She fell into the local smuggling scene; buying and selling drugs, chips, firearms, whatever she could get her hands on. She'd learn the routes, hire mules and drivers. She knew how to live small, save hard, and spend only what you needed to when it came to growing a business. Within three years she was moving large quantities to all four major syndicates of Seattle - and even some of the corps who wanted things that'd be harder to get by legal channels. Three drivers to her empire, and about to be a fourth. Unfortunately, it was around year three that she had shown she was starting to grow a heart.

A mafia rat was all it took to get a fed mole as her next driver, and the rest was written. What was supposed to be a clean deal turned into a smuggling ring bust that several KE teams a fat gold star and a few officers a promotion. One was given a dismissal, however, when he ruined Aleksandra's arm to the point of needing amputation. She declined all prosthetics before entering prison. And while in it, declined them further still.

At twenty years old, she had it all, lost it all, lost her arm, and came face to face with the cruel industrial fittings of the UCAS prison system. She was haunted by her stay. By what she'd done. The bunraku chips. The hard chems sold to vory dealers who preyed upon people who were just like her when she was a kid. The mafia and triads who'd buy her guns wholesale, only to throw them to gangs or enforce 'protection services' themselves. For the first three years in the prison she was nonverbal. Active. Aware. Even kept her physicality together while in prison. Her haunting eyes earned her the name "Shellshock."

Eventually though, the prison therapist did make his way to Sasha, got her to break her silence. Touted it as a miracle to the warden, and that maybe she could be rehabilitated. She started taking online law classes. Speech therapy. Both seemed to interest her. She learned more about the foster system, this time from a more educated standpoint than what she had lived through. And never once did she lash out, only more silence when she was pissed. And eyes that could kill - but never did.

Then came her 27th birthday, and she was up for parole - entirely due to her stellar behavior, her young age at the time of offence, and how eagerly she seemed to delve into the legal system. Many hearings started, most were good - some were bad - but eventually, after a few more years, she was released as a private contractor to KE as both a criminal mind analyist, and the occaisional high stakes negotiator.

Aleksandra cooperated with this arrangement, but ultimately, she grew tired of it. She could see the pain and corruption present in the world was just as readily displayed in the law enforcement - her shoulder still ached as that reminder. Shellshock had seen the cruelty of it all. Stood in it. Dealt it. She wanted to ease that pain, the pain she helped to cause, and knew she couldn't do that in legal channels. She expressed her deepest condolences to Knight Errant, but now that she was thirty she was feeling it was appropriate she try her hand at being a bit more of a motivational speaker where she could afford to be.

Her old law teacher. The digital librarian. Even the son of the man who got her half of her seattle fleet. She reached out. She was starting business again, but this time keeping it clean. And with a few called connections, a check to make sure she was clean, her fixer set her on the path to Seattle's Big Leagues.
