Character Information

Summary

Shadowrunner "Paragon" fits firmly into the Mage Archetype and has shown ample ability in the informal role as the "face" of a Shadowrunner group. Always wearing some time of filter between the air or breathing through a tube, Paragon has been seated with a medical condition that requires such precautions. Their magical preclinations has been stunted due to their relative experience in the field along with a serious lack of formal training. Cemented with a notable lack of funds and lofty long-term goals that require Nuyen, the Individual behind the Paragon callsign has begun seriously entering into the Seattle Shadowrunning scene.

((I write short stories and post them in ParagonSs for this particular character.))

Goals

Paragon appears to be in the business of Shadowrunning for the acquirement of currency in the form of Nuyen, Corporate Scrip, Gold Bars and incredibly valuable transorbital materials not found on Earth; These valuable objects are intended to be used for the furtherment of personal goals that require funding as well as the acquirement proper living standards fit for the Mage.

This Shadow runner is also interested in striking back against a corporation for personally wronging her, as well as the fact that said corporation has placed a significant bounty for her retrieval.

Paragon has been subtly looking for ways of strengthening their own bodies frail immune system. to this end they practice herbal supplements and similar therapies of varying effects.

Background

A statistical anomaly straight from the underground, Paragon was born as an Elf to the lineage of two Orcs. This statistically improbable anomaly was soon noticed Spinrad Industries mere days after they were born. the Individual that would become Paragon had several unique genetic anomalies that were noticed by the genetic scan done by the statistics division of Spinrad who had promptly arranged the individual to be moved to a Corporate Blacksite. The three-week-old was promptly held in a sterile environment for laboratory experiments related to Bio-ware production for the rest of her childhood and teenage years. the Elf was held captive with only amenities related towards raising Paragon to join the corporation as an official employee with the chance of a full-time occupation, with an education similar to that of a middle-class wage-slave. One on one tutors were required due to the increasingly deteriorative procedures that had broken down Paragons immune system. When they had Awoken at the age of fourteen, the training immediately shifted towards becoming a corporate mage.

Despite the clear and obvious security risk that was associated with a mage that happened to be a test-subject, her excellent behavior had allowed her to be trained to utilize her magical abilities. Although she had never really left the Black-site at any point, whispers from the other side of the walls had clung to her, acting more as a guiding spirit against the corporate doctrine that had been ground into her skull. It spoke of something more than the studies and self-destructive experiments that she would go through day in and day out. A place in her own words as being "somewhere where only some things revolve around Job." With the mentoring spirit firmly entrenched in her psyche, she would be increasingly subversive and eventually distraught with how she was treated as a ward of SpinRad Global Industries. she began showing interest in self-defensive/offensive combat magic in addition to her standard course, getting small amounts of information on the finer points by a conscientious researcher. She was still kept in captivity up until the age of 20, with the testing and education taking a heavy toll on Paragons Psych, she had begun planning to escape their prison, which Paragon privately referred to as "The Bird-Cage" until her luck struck out.

An information leak unrelated to her imprisonment had resulted in a shadow-runner team breaking into the lab, slaughtering little less than half the security force and escorting her off the premises without the pay data they had originally intended to grab. Before the Johnson was met up and the goods exchanged, Paragon had managed to escape the escape vehicle they were using and had managed to levitate themselves to across a river. Escaping the clutches of the team, Paragon had managed to escape with two pieces of extremely expensive laboratory equipment each the size of a microscope along with the pay data the Shadowrunners had originally been sent to acquire. After giving the team a runaround by sheer luck, Paragon had met with the Johnson (after acquiring the meetup details through eavesdropping earlier.) and turned in the pay data and turned in the lab equipment as well for a pay bonus and just enough funds to run far, far away to Seattle, to begin a new life.

From there, Paragon has established themselves in the showrunner community as well as acquiring all the things she needed to become an aspiring mage, she has firmly plunged herself into running, and has begun taking runs at the age of 22 after a year of establishing themselves and living off the payday from her first Shadowrun. She has come to be slightly desperate for her first "real" Shadowrun, with the hopes that the run would gain enough funds to live a reasonable life fit for someone her caliber.

Narrative Significant Qualities

Compromised Immune System: During her formative years, the combination of a very sterile environment along with the battery of immunosuppression regimens among other semi-experimental chemical therapies has resulted in a severely compromised immune system. Paragon cannot breath unfiltered air, as the allergens in the air affect her in a detrimental fashion. She is forced to constantly wear a respirator or at minimum a sterile mask under the risk of an allergic reaction that may degenerate with time. Her current state is also in flux; Her condition may at any time change, most likely for the worse. It would not be possible for genetically supressed syndromes to suddenly flux on with the degenerating treatments she is experiencing.

She carries spare respirators and similar equipment at her house for emergencies. certain areas of extremely magical power appear to be less irritating towards Paragon, and she may take off the mask in certain magical sites that "agree" with her immune system.

Wanted: There is a standing bounty for the capture of Paragon. The bounty is created by a subsidiary of Spinrad Industries. This bounty is to the tune of 50,000. This is due to deeply classified chemical concoctions flowing through their blood which is simultaneously mauling Paragons immune system and causing dozens of chemical-body interactions that would be priceless to anyone who understands their value (and has run a pint of blood through a centrifuge.), that could possibly make Bioware implants cheaper and possibly more effective. Another facet that has required the bounty is the fact that Paragon knows intimate details of a Corporate Black-Site that the corporation does not want to fall into unknown hands. There is also a bounty of 666 Nuyen on the shadow-boards related to this bounty, (politely) requesting that the elf "get the snot beaten out of them" with proof in the form of a trideo/Simsense Chip before they are turned away to the corporation.

Run History

By technicality, Paragon has committed to only one Shadow-run with the assistance of four shadowrunners, however that run was not in the local Seattle area.

Appearance

Clothing

Although they often play dress-up depending on the mission, Paragons default mission-wear is a simple set of black cargo-pants, a worn but branded bag that is more stereotypical among Deckers then anything else, and a Turtle-Neck. They have a ballistic vest and a helmet in their bag ready to put on in bad situations. On there forearm is a metal box, a hollowed out Deck, with all the electronics long ago stripped out and jury-rigged into a storage device. the box referred to as the "Magic Box of Dispair" stores many miscellaneous items, chief among them is a ball-peen hammer, "The Hammer of Destruction", along with its pal "the Chisel of Opening".

To glancing looks, Paragon has intentionally made themselves look like a Decker in their attire, but there are several striking attributes that firmly place them into looking more like a poser than anything else (mainly by following stereotypes from Trids and the like.) Their bag filled with what most orcs and Deckers refer to as "Weird Mage Drek" cement that fact.

Most Deckers don't actually throw around mana-bolts like its going out of style either.

When they are not wearing their strange Psuedo-decker outfit, like for example in situations where they are not on a run, they would be wearing civilian clothes, something comfortable to wear that they could afford.

Matrix Persona

a really buff male troll with strong meaty arms and a funny looking hat that speaks in a manly voice

Notably, Paragon has taken to a past-time of writing extremely exhaustive and sometimes amusing rants on various topics related to her hobby of the various attributes of Swords, Alchemical concoctions, along with anti-transhumanistic values and the latest cybertechnological and bio-ware trends. Usually tongue in cheek, they are written as if it were a troll had written them, with simple, to the point writing that often points out their flaws just as much as he praises items and devices. Absolutely abhors the mixing of Swords and poisons, supposedly as it is "dishonorable", which has resulted in a boost of popularity that has made them noticed in Asian communities.
