Summary

The New Century party is planning to have a protest in favor of Technomancy rights. When the Archconservative party planned counterprotest, Knight Errant declined to show up in favor of the New Century party. What could be going on?

Background

The New Century Party is protesting in the rights of Technomancers. The Archconservative party views them as not deserving of rights, so they have showed up in force to counter protest! Someone from within the NCP has hired runners to help protect the NCP protesters as Knight Errant refuses to protect them.

The Meet

The runners are contact by their fixers who ask them to meet the NCP Johnson. After some negotiating and prep work, they decide to help the J protect the protestors down below.

The Plan

The runner team do some digging around the net and with contacts to determine a solid plan of action. Canis and Jane Excalibur snoop through the net to find that Knight Errant had been paid off by the Archconservative party, and that Alamos 20K was planning to attack the NCP protesters.

Using this information in their favor, Jane Excalibur tried to contact her contact within the FBI, Cassandra Withers, to request aid during the impending fight.

Five of Nines plans to provide over watch, while the other three runners stay below to protect the citizens.

The Run

The protest is almost immediately met with Archconservative force as KE refuses to hold the blockade further, allowing counterprotesting citizens to approach the demonstration. The runners fire the first shot with a plethora of tear gas which disperses the citizens. Alamos 20K snipers and bruisers appear from the crowd and are quickly dispatched by the the runners in an ensuing battle. Before approaching, the Knight errant members get a call to back off from engaging the NCP party in protest, and Cassandra Withers lets the runner team know the favor had been called in.

Nines fires upon the sniper, and Canis runs to the sniper to dispatch them. Paz fires a flash shield upon the crowd to deter the attackers, and Jane begins to knock some of the bruisers down. Nines is able to shoot out the eyes of an engaging Alamos member, which demoralizes them.

A few seconds pass and the runner team finish up with a clean sweep of knocking out the remaining Alamos, after which Jane attempts to hack their commlink. Getting good intel from the link, she offers it to Cassandra Withers to pay back her debt.

Aftermath

The runner team was able to successfully defend the NCP protestors and apprehend Alamos 20K members to offer them to the FBI. This stopped the Archconservative party, and reporters spun this as "A win for Technomancy rights!".
