Summary

Simple run, in and out, 20 minute adventure!

A man who goes by the name of Royce has moved into town, and has been picked as the most recent form of bait to lure out runners. Getting bank rolled by SK, Royce's main job is to continue to do whatever he's doing, but just to slip word about some super secret briefcase to the locals. Low and behold, a runner team came knocking!

Then blew up.

Background

The team was hired by a local smuggler, Cortez, to retrieve a silver case from Royce, a paranoid rival smuggler operating out of a fortified warehouse in the Blackridge Market. The case was rumored to contain valuable magical reagents tied to a talismonger’s operation. Royce, known for his distrust of tech, had heavily trapped his hideout and employed street-level enforcers, a couple of low-tier mages, and a paracritter as his final line of defense.

The Meet

Cortez was a mess, completely unorganized and uninformed as to what his client wanted. Reading scarcely off the envelope he had full of the descriptors for the run. Eventually, they talked him into handing over the folder, taking the job and excusing the Johnson.

The Plan

Scout the place out, head in later in the day, and infiltrate the place!

After they get all the information, they decide that a social encounter may be doable. Having Nico and Sam's contact in the Vory offer the man an opportunity.

The Run

During scouting, Tomebound immediately found that there was a weak, force 4 alarm ward, which prevented the spirit from scouting much further than the outskirts on the astral.

So, using Sam's car, and Nico's speed, the group of them do a cursory scout of the building, finding that it's trapped and has watcher spirits on the inside.

Nico, decides, as was discussed inside of the plan, to try to do some talking. He walks out into the middle of the street, and basically just yells up to the building that he's looking for Royce. They send someone down, and after an intense encounter that nearly started combat, they go and bring him inside.

Frieren and Sam post up at a window not long afterwords, Sam cutting the grenade rigged to the shabby window, and the bunch of them getting ready to move in when necessary.

--Where Things Went Sideways--

Game Quotes

Player After Action Reports (AARs)

Nico - Not uh.. not my finest work, admittedly. Frankly, a fucking horrendous showing. God - why did I let myself think I could face? The guy had a bomb vest! And a cracked-out radiation cat! I am a fucking buffoon. ...At least I lived.

Samael - You daft... ridiculous man. This is why we do not let you talk to people on jobs. This is why you have me to help you. Good god, man. You'd be dead if not for that ridiculous magic of yours. I cannot wait for you to grow your bloody bollocks back so I can give you a swift kick in them.
