Summary
Background
Ariel a local performer returned to her apartment only to find her roommate Echo murdered gruesomely. The team is brought in to determine who done it.
The Meet
The team met up at Malrone investigations, a run down aging building in Puyallup. They were there for the jobs details and to to interview the witness, Ariel. The job offered 3k each. She had returned home from a long day of gigs to find her roomate and friend dead in her room. The vic, a woman going by Echo, Lara Voss. Both gals, students at the Auralux Collective, german imports. The team pressed for a little info from Ariel before cutting her loose and heading over to the scene of the crime.
The Plan
Start by investigating the crime scene before KE can disrupt evidence and then shift the investion towards Auralux Collective and beyond.
The Run
The team quicky moves to the Vic's apartment before it can be contaminated. Reaching out to various KE officials proved fruitless and they would instead need to talk or push their way in. On scene, Throwback got a bead on a KE observation drone and got to work hacking it while Sibly tried to sweettalk the guard and gain entrance while Throwback took on the role of her bodyguard. The drone was easy enough to hack and displayed a gruesome scene of Echo's body stabbed with a piece of metal. The local pawns weren't doing much, waylaid by bureaucracy and extradition of the case. Sybil was able to bribe her way into the scene and performed a reading on the body while Throwback looked for possible clues. The team learned that Echo was murdered by a modified magnetic puck that somehow shot its trophy through her neck. With not much else to do here, the team moves on to the Collective and their first likely suspects.
The Auralux Collective, several old warehouse builds in Tourisville. A school of sorts for the arts and a training ground for upcoming talent. The runners were greeted at the front desk and escorted to the local boss' office, Toby switch Jones. With him another suspect Fawn, an instructor. Sibyl engaged in conversation with the two while Throwback silently went to work on their commlinks. He uncovered some message history talking about the murder, and something about Fawn being "tied up" with Bassline as well as their shared concern about the J Ariel. The message felt strange considering Bassline had been fired from the collective, which begs the question just how was Fawn involved with her? Additionally there were some messages found on Switches commlink mentioning the termination of bassline, stating that they can no longer control her in the planned capacity. The runners were escorted out and on the way Throwback overread a matrix communication between fawn and switch. The pair were about to send some goons after bassline. The runners decided to hustle to her apartment and if she wasn't there the repair shop where she hung out.
The team found little at Bass' apartment, just a calming zen atmosphere and no Bassline. With this they drove to the garage hoping to find her there. Inside they found a troll, wrench, who was good friends with Bassline and Echo, as well as a 3rd, torque. The 3 of them were in a love triangle of sorts, with torque cheating on Echo with Bassline. Wrench was morning the loss of Troque in a recent car crash and hadn't heard about Echo yet. He seemed broken up. A conversation lead the team to believe that Bassline was hold up a Torques place and decided to head over there, but not before picking up a side gig. Echo was suppose to be watching Wrenches pet snake, which has gone missing. The team decided to investigate it along with the murder and maybe pick up some car mods on the side. With that deal struck they headed over to Torques, a seedy motel type place nearby.
Arriving at the hotel, the team sees a disturbance on the lower floor, someone dead, their cybereyes burnt out, but not the target they were seeking. They investigated the 2nd floor room and found Bassline stuck in VR and comatose by her custom VR design studio. After some investigation of the room the team learned from a hidden micro cam that Torque recovered Noodle, wrenches snake, from Echo's place and that she was either already dead, or died while he was there. Additionally it showed Bassline entering later, throwing up in the bathroom and slots a simsense chip. Finally music begins to play from one of Torques commlinks which causes noodle to react violently, all at once Bassline convulses and the lights flicker and glitch. Noodle seemingly slithing out of the apartment through the kitchen. Sibyl performed a reading on Bassline, the reading terribly. Signs of guilt of killing. After peicing together some information Throwback seemed to identify Noodle as an Ahri, an emerged snake, and some evidence that "She" may be guarding a clutch of eggs. Throwback picked up signs of resonance activity, a sprite perhaps. Suspecting the murder downstairs might now be related, possibly Noodle? he discovered similar resonance, similar but different. The team attempted to extract Bassline by shifting her to AR and jacking her out but that didn't release her from her cage. They now set about tracking Noodle. Throwback picked up a sent form the snake which lead to a nearby dumpster. A local let Sybil know who does the local trash pickup and they left for the scrap yard he ran.
Rusty's trash, a rundown place in Puyallup was their destination. Early scouting resulted in Throwback's persona being attacked, it had to be Noodle. The team went matrix dark and converged on a location that Throwback was able to get on noodle. By the time they arrived Noodle had done some damage to Rusty, messing with his cyber limbs. While Sybil assisted and distracted him, Throwback engaged Noodle and stunned her. Recovering Noodle and her 2 eggs. The team reached out to a local zoo who could likely care for an emerged snake better and convinced Wrench this was for the best, they even manage to score a payday in the process from the researchers at the zoo. With the Ahi captured the team returned to the task at hand, unraveling a murder. Their next destination Fawn's apartment building with hopes she might be more forthcoming. She was not, Sybil projected into her room and left a commcode, saying they were investigating Torques murder but didn't expect much contact from her, she was in too deep for that. Throwback then decided to give Bassline's apartment a more detailed examination. Inside he found a workbench with projects linking her to the magnets that killed Echo, perhaps the origins of the gift. But why, when they hated each other? Yet another mystery to solve.
The team was still not fully convinced of a murder and set out to investigate the race scene more. Sibyl did some research while Throwback took a final peak at the Collective's host. Inside he found student records for echo and bass, and no records related to Torque or Wrench. The records backed up Bass' difficult attitude and impulsiveness. Meanwhile Sibyl found some photo evidence from the race that killed Torque. Bass concealing a stain in her dress. A dress she was no longer wearing. Throwback called Wrench and got a make and model of her car. He found it parked up the street from Torques place, and inside the red dress with an oil stain. This made it fairly clear that she had likely messed with Torques car, and the team surmised, that because he found out that she had killed echo she was covering for herself. The team, now more happy with this finding, returned to the agency to report their results.
Aftermath
The team turned over their evidence folder to Marla. She was somewhat insistent of a final decision, Throwback fingered Bassline for the murder of Echo but pointed out that there is no solid evidence to say if it was her Torque, or Noodle. The team also mentioned that its not terribly important which of them did it as there would be no real justice regardless, 2 of them suspects are dead or as good as dead, and the final is a snake. She seemed content with the answer and paid the team.

Sibyl:A higher body count than most cases. Some things just never change. Jealousy, greed, malignant corporations...human degradation. Never ran across an Ahi before though. I may go visit Noodles at Fort Lewis with Wrench when he's done working on my Renault-Fiat. I want to talk him into coming to see Bassline every now and then, I have her set for long term care. I'd like to work with Throwback again, a wiz partner.
