He started out small time, I don’t even think he was tied to the triads for a while, but during the Seattle war between the Red Dragons and Yellow Lotus, he was approached by the Lotus and had his little hustle folded into the triad. He swore the 36 Oaths and kept his own little operation running, largely independent of the Yellow Lotus, actually. Recently though, he got tapped for a promotion, and became a Red Pole. Despite his status, he’s still a street hustler in Seattle, and this gets him some sideways glances from other Red Poles and his seniors.
