Summary
The Crew is hired via various means and situations for a special (if not lucrative) opportunity- to play as professional roller derby players for the Redmond Rockabillies.
Background
The Redmond Rockabillies was sabotaged when the entire team came down with Food Poisoning right before the final game of the season, and with Relegation on the horizon if they lose, Lizzie Speed concocts a truly insane plan: Get Shadowrunners to fill in.
The Meet
The crew all receive the call in a variety of was of varying....dignity. The crew all make their way ASAP, as there was no time to meet, rather to leave as soon as able to. They arrive at the Community Center where Lizzie Speed relays her insane plan.
The Plan
The Plan is to play the final game against The Capital Island Condors and win. Before than, the crew has 8 hours to prepare. John Galt prepares Magic, Sticks snoops around where the team was poisoned, finding that foul play was definitely on the table. Obsidian, Tusk, and Titan train up there teamwork, tactics, and skating ability...
The Run
John is able to summon an spirit to run interference during the match, as well as cast multiple spells on himself. Obsidian, Tusk, and Titan are able to train effectively with Lizzie. Sticks finds out the saboteur is her Fixer Ace Powers. With this information Obsidian decides to call her childhood friend, high end escort, and legwork specialist Scheherazade. Scheherazade manages to compile blackmail on Ace Powers, finding evidence of him gambling on his team's own games. During the match, the Condors are no match for The Shadowrunner's Magic, Tactics, and raw strength, and before half time, both eligible scorers for the Condors are out cold. Obsidian and Sticks then send a surreptitious message to Powers via burner: telling him to stop sabotaging the Rockabillies or evidence of his gambling will be sent to the league and he will be tied up in legal troubles.
Aftermath
The Rockabillies are able to avoid Regulation and the increased income due remaining in the upper leagues as well as no longer being sabotaged and deprioritized on airing time means that the Community Center will continue to be a vibrant part of the community. The blackmail will hopefully stop the repeated acts of foul play so that the Rockabillies will be able to fairly compete from now on.
