Character Information

Summary

Sticks is an Elf born and raised in the city of New Orleans. He ran from his parents and their increasing pressure for him to lead in their secretive drug and BTL trade, becoming a shadowrunner out of pure survival and a need to lay low. This led to him having a personality rather unfit for a shadowrunner: with a go-getter optimistic attitude, empathic nature, and a fascination for cats that would likely keep him out of more morally dubious runs. His fake SIN claims him to be Desmond Green, but he prefers if he was only called Sticks.

Goals

Sticks hopes that, one day, he can open altruism-centric organizations to bring a selfless attitude back to the dystopian suburbs of the United-Canadian American States. This includes a soup kitchen, cat sanctuary, rehabs, halfway houses... Probably more if you asked him. But, for now, he just takes care of a bunch of stray cats he found on the street in his rundown Seattle apartment.

Background

Sticks was born and raised in New Orleans, to a family of notorious crime lords specialized in trading BTLs with the elite— though it wasn't the only thing they'd create and smuggle. His father a human, and his mother an elven Voodooist, they often schmoozed with the upper class and left Sticks to be parented and schooled by the nanny who took care of their living quarters. His father was the one for connections and bribes, and his mother took care of the competition with her magic. When he was a teenager, he was finally let on to the illicit dealings of his parents— unfortunately through his nanny, who then mysteriously disappeared. He was given an ultimatum by his parents; join them as part of the industry, becoming an heir to the "throne", or be disowned and likely arrested (or worse). Having been taught his morals by his nanny, he would choose the latter... And thus lived a life in the shadows. He would almost suffer the fate his parents warned him about, if it weren't for two elder shadowrunners that took him under their wings and granted him the asylum he needed: Horace and Olivia Gonzalez. They gave him a fake SIN under the name Desmond Green, and set him up to travel to Seattle where runners thrive. He now lives in a rundown apartment with Stryker, his recently acquired friend, and 4 cats he adopted off the streets. Though he's very grateful for what they've done, this doesn't mean he's without a debt to be repaid...

Appearance

Sticks is a 5'11 black Elf of a skinny, lanky stature fitting for his title. He sports frosted, tightly braided dreadlocks that droop to about shoulder-length that he ties into a ponytail during missions. He has dark hair, hazel eyes, and an intentional scar on his left eyebrow. He typically sports a small amount of makeup and war paint to match his Shaman image: most notably three stripes of black paint on each side of his face, starting at his jaw extending toward his cheekbones, somewhat resembling the stripes of a tiger.

Clothing

For casual clothing (and low-risk runs), Sticks sports a chest-length crop top and a black leather vest with worn-down skinny jeans and a pair of (formerly) nice but (now) worn-out sneakers. He usually sports various bone-related jewelry typical of a Shaman, namely a pair of alligator-tooth earrings and a necklace of various small bones from rats, rabbits, or birds (he considers it a "gift" from his cats). For more formal occasions, like a party, he may choose to wear a mesh shirt instead... Otherwise, not much changes about his appearance due to a lack of funding.
