Background

A second generation changeling that was either orphaned or abandoned by her parents in Redmond's Rat's Nest at a young age, life has been rough for Lina. Her diminutive stature made her an easy target for less scrupulous squatters, and her status as an odd, scaly creature marked her as an outcast among outcasts. It's a miracle that Lina made it long enough for a local witch named Abracadebra to pity on the poor girl around her 16th birthday. The witch noticed Lina's untapped magical potential and invited the changeling to act as her apprentice, giving her access to Abracadebra's library of stolen and scavenged texts in exchange for her assistance.

Lina, or Meepo as Abracadebra took to calling her, proved to be a quick learner once she no longer had to worry about basic survival. An old copy of the Anarchist's Cookbook found in the dump sparked a fascination with things that went boom, and a pile of outdated maintenance handbooks gave her ideas of trying to help her community by fixing up some old generators. Despite struggling with horrible anxiety and memories of being abused by other squatters as a child, she wanted to do her part to make life better for everyone. But making things better costs money.

Against Abracadebra's advisement, took a loan from the Gianelli Family in order to set up a small workshop. She hoped to pay back the loan by selling alchemical preparations, drugs, and homemade explosives to city's criminal element, and had some success, but that all came crashing down after she was mugged by gangers on her way to pay the loanshark. He wasn't interest in hearing the beaten and bloodied Meepo's excuses when she tried to call and ask for an extension, and she received a second beating when his goons showed up at her squat to repossess nearly everything she owned. It wasn't nearly enough to pay back the mob. The loanshark wouldn't be generous enough to let her live if she missed her payment again.

Desperate, she begged Abracadebra for help. The witch didn't have the money, but what she did have was connections through her work with Mana. If Meepo was brave enough to put herself in danger, she could find work in the shadows for her. Seeing no other option, she agreed...

Additionally, degradation of certain portions of the brain have left her with a weakened sense of self and a few linguistic quirks like speaking in third person and repeating words.
• Saved by the Witch - Favored (Biased, Awakened) - Abracadabra saved Meepo and helped her learn to use her magic. Magic that keeps her fed and provides a path out of poverty. Everything good in Meepo's life is because of magic, so magic must be good.
