Summary
Tsarina investigates further into the arrival of her master. Confronting one of his students and now obtaining a ticket to getting revenge against her former master.
Background
In the midst of the Red and White vory conflict, a student of Alexander's lead an assault against a Red Vory compound. Critically injured in the conflict but with their target assassinated the student fled to the more populated area to hide. The Red Vory knowing this, decides to hire Tsarina, having a sneaking suspicion that this may be personal and they can use this to their advantage.
The Meet
Tsarina in a perpetual state of preparing for her masters return, received a DNI call from her usual fixer. Informing her that her previous employers would like to request her services again. Slightly weary Tsarina agreed and headed over. The Johnson the same as last time, seemed to be gauging her for something. That something as it turns out was to see if it was indeed personal. Offering her an extra reward, to speak with one Aleksander Bilotkiy. The Tsar of the Red Vory of Seattle, who allegedly has information on Abdulov. On top of being paid usually of course for her efforts. All she need do was find an alleged student of Abdulov's and kill him for what he had done to the Red Vory. Agreeing to this with a slight grin. Tsarina headed off to patrol Tacoma and find this former student, eager to learn what she could.
The Plan
First things first, Tsarina needed information, and in thus she called Iktomi. An overworked Ork decker who after being paid a decent sum looked through the various cameras and surveillance systems he had access to. Eventually finding out that shortly after evading the Red Vory called a Renraku subsidiary cab into the denser parts of Tacoma to get away. Tsarina thanked Iktomi and continued the search by herself, now left to patrol the Tacoma streets by herself to find her mark.
Heading through the streets of Tacoma, Tsarina's guesswork was easily cut short upon wrapping her head around where he would go. Somewhere public but not too crowded. Enough attention to be a cover, but not too much as to be a hinderance. Eventually she found herself at the Platinum Doubloon casino. Looking throughout at the relatively wealthy establishment to get a gauge on where he might have gone. Using her social skills to look about at the individuals within the Casino to pinpoint what floor he is on. Thinking back to what her former master had taught her, they'd likely be somewhere higher, in a room most likely but still close enough to first aid and help should his wounds flare up. She needed to head upwards. All she needed was a person to get her up there.
Which she was able to, in the form of one Mr. Pentarez. An elven suit most likely for some arms manufacturer. Tsarina using her social charm was able to woo the man into getting her membership access to the 12th floor, a more private area with security readily available and with first aid not too far away. The perfect place for the student to be hiding away in. After convincing Pentarez to escort her, the tow headed up. Tsarina's SIN holding true through the screening before investigating herself. Realizing the staff was... manipulated via the means of mind magic and the security has been bribed. Thinking fast on her feet Tsarina was able to find a relatively drunk man to provoke. Successfully causing a scene that gave her a chance to find the student amidst the halls.
The Run
Heading down the halls towards the suites she tried to act in the guise of a panicked individual seeking safety from the commotion. Yet no door opened, realizing an alarm spell would be prepared she stepped forward regardless, triggering it intentionally as she looked about. Eventually after peak silence she though far back to what their codes were between Abdulov and his students. Remembering "Belaya Roza." A code that usually meant "we are safe" or something to that affect. Tsarina then heard the door unlocked and stepped inside.
The background count jumped higher, an atmosphere of self-depravation and harm surrounding the area as Tsarina was jumped and held in a choke hold. The man now demanding how she knew that phrase. Tsarina in turn using Death Touch causing the man to let go and ready himself in turn. Tsarina attempted to deceive him, to leave with her and that coast was clear for now but they had to move soon. Unfortunately he asked for a recent password, one unfortunately Tsarina lacked before combat was initiated. The man still deadly despite his wounds. Yet Tsarina still prevailed. Using Agony to have him lie on the floor almost unconscious before she used Death Touch on him, the last words he uttered... "Spasibo." Thanking Tsarina... finally free of whatever torment Abdulov put him through.
Aftermath
Not knowing what to think about... any of that, she probed his mind before the man fully faded away. Realizing there was far more students than she already anticipated. At least 5 with a solid majority more out of sight behind the man. Fast forwarding to now to where Tsarina realized why he hadn't recovered. He kept striking at himself. Cutting himself a risk, calling himself a failure, that he should have done better, over and over and over again in Russian etched along his forearms. Not allowing himself the time or headspace he needed in order to properly rest. And finally, upon the mans death and with little visual wounds on her body she headed back out.
After bidding farewell to Mr. Pentarez. Tsarina once again was left to cope with her demons. Asking her once again if she was TRULY ready. If she truly had what it taked to take on Abdulov. If the allies she acquired were enough. If SHE was enough. Yet all the same she pressed on. The cab she took coincidentally marked with the blood said former student bled before heading to the hotel. A grim reminder and further motivator all in one to the dangers ahead. Yet all the same she exited after declining to tip the automated cab. The Johnson inside sliding a credstick and saying Aleksander would likely be in touch with her.
Now all she may do is prepare and wait. For whatever dangers Abdulov has in store right around the corner.
