GM Style

Right. My style of GMing is heavily informed by the Runnerhub, given taht's where I started, so I want to get that out of the way. Let's get to the grit of it all.

Basics

The core concept of running at my table is this: "The World Reacts.". Your action are going to have consequences. Presumably, you're aiming and angling to ensure that those consequences are slanted in your favor, or are the ones you want to have happen. However, there may come a time where due to faulty intel, hasty planning, or just sheer bad luck those consequences are going to be ones you don't want coming your way. In these instances, it's up to you as players to wrangle, shoot, lie, and generally weasel the hell out, like the pretend-career-criminals you are. I make this promise now: I as the GM will never gun for you any harder or softer than the opposition you are facing would.

The App

When I write my run postings, I always provide an RP prompt that will invoke a certain scene or idea for you to respond with. I do ask that everyone tries their best to at least give me a sentence or two. I definitely know that RPing comes easier to some than others, but I feel that an app - successful or not - gives you a chance to flesh out your characters in a way table RP or offtable RP can't quite cover.

Cyber or Punk?

My table is cheerfully described as 'schizophrenic' on this. Some runs, it is a shitty, stained world you live in, and the people you meet are just as pitchblack thugs as you are. Other times, the world is crisp, clean, and above all professional. The style depends heavily on which world the job is taking you to - the towers and facilities of corporations are much different to the streets and alleys that syndicates run in.

Living, breathing people

Your contacts are people. That security guard you're conning is a person. The sec team you're fighting are all people. I do my best to give them voices and personalities, and I ask that you at least endeavor to engage in the effort I'm putting in.
