Character Information

Summary

A Cockroach changeling who believes herself to be evolutionarily superior to literally everything else, Pinnacle is a bratty but infuriatingly competent runner who excels in smooth talk, negotiation, and insults among others. She can also take a hefty hit in combat.

Goals

To spread the truth of her evolutionary superiority to the masses, however, not many seem to be receptive to it... and she has found herself in a position where she needs to survive; so she has taken up shadowrunning.

Background

Valerie Williams was born to relatively well off parents in 2056. As she grew up, her childhood was uneventful and happy until one day when she was 7, and a tragic accident saw her house burned down and parents burn to death. She too, was badly burned, and taken to the hospital with little expected chance of recovery. That's when she SURGEd, and the new Valerie emerged from deep within her genes; she became a resilient cockroach based changeling with insectoid chitin and other features, saving her life due to the bug's signature resilience. She was treated afterwards, the doctors calling it nothing short of a Miracle. Finding a place with a foster family for the rest of her childhood, Valerie came to believe that her SURGE (and adept powers she had begun to discover) were a result of superior evolution activating from her genes. She holds this belief into adulthood, no matter how many may discriminate against her and believe she has ties to the invae. When she became old enough to work, she found herself bored and frustrated by the paths available to the awakened, and ended up quitting her job and taking to the shadows, believing her talents to be better used there. She now uses the handle "Pinnacle", representative of her views on herself.

Narrative Significant Qualities

Positive

Changeling (Class III SURGE) - Pinnacle is both awakened and has SURGED, leaving her with many insectoid features she believes Imperative to her survival and a point of finer evolution. (Surge Qualities: Dermal Alteration (Rhino Hide), Glamour, Claws, Insectoid Features, Critter Spook, Impaired Attribute: Strength, Unusual Hair)

Common Sense - Despite her bratty attitude, Pinnacle is quite in tune with the ways of the world intuition wise, and can tell when something is a bad idea.

Negative

Did you just call me Dumb? - Can't resist bragging and disparaging others in fancy words, as she hardly believes most to even be able to speak on her level.

Phobia (Uncommon, Moderate) (Fire) - Due to the event that claimed her parents and nearly her, Pinnacle is afraid of fire and will go nowhere near it.

Poor Self Control (Attention Seeking) - Always needs the spotlight. When people stare so much, you may as well own it.

Poor Self Control (Compulsive IV, Personal) (Hoarding) - Represents the phrase "Hoarder bug" to a T. Her apartment is filled with garbage and various bits and bobs organized in a way that makes sense to her, and she can hardly stand to get rid of them, ever.
