Summary

Me is a Face who specialises in Con and using toxins to carry out assassinations, close quarters combat or simply knocking out enemies.

Goals

To live a (relatively) normal and peaceful life despite having Insectoid Features.

Background

Anneli's life was simple. Ever since she was born, she only knew the woods of the Finnish wilderness in which she lived, and which she had formed a bond with. She lived with her family in a house far away from any city, though her parents still had jobs and regularly went to the nearest city to buy supplies. However, by end of the year 2079, the megacorp NeoNET who was in the process of being dismantled, decided to dump all the waste from their biotechnology division not far away from her home, unnaware and thinking no one would notice. Slowly, the toxicity from the wastes started to seep into the land, corrupting and twisting anything it touched. It's unnatural shine, becoming more and more apparent to Anneli who frequently strolled through the woods, became too hard to ignore, As she slowly followed the origin of the glow, a sense of dread crept through her, every muscle in her body tensing and screaming at her to go back; but the mesmerizing radiance dragged her at every step. Eventually, she was surrounded by the glimmer that pulled her towards that place, and the deeper she went, the more twisted and unnatural the flora in the area became. As she wandered through this strange territory, she was unaware that she herself was changing; her appearance slowly appearing as if she had fused with an insect, mandibles grew by the sides of her mouth, which was now extending from cheek to cheek- and within it fangs and a longer tongue had now developed. Her limbs were now partially covered in what seemed to be chitin, as if armour enveloped them.

After eventually coming back home, her parents still out at work, she went to take a shower like usual. However, it is when she saw her mutated reflection in the mirror that realisation finally struck. She caressed her own face, but her own hands didn't feel like her own. Her heart started racing. She panicked and ran back to her room, scratching at her own arms, hoping it'd come off or that this was just a bad dream. But nothing changed. She couldn't let her parents see her like this. She packed everything she could and ran, only leaving a hastily written note behind, the contents of which are not important anymore. The only thing that mattered for her now was learn how to survive in a world where she would be looked down upon anywhere she went.

And so for the next 7 years, she travelled and learnt how to manipulate, persuade and lie her way through anything. Despite the challenges that come with looking like a bug, the charismatic personality she had built over the years could make almost anyone ignore the pointy fangs extruding from the sides of her mouth, and thanks to this she managed to learn about shadowrunners, and more specifically about how to get in contact with a certain Fixer. And thus, she decided that the best way to continue honing her abilities would be to start working as a Runner. And who could complain if she made some money while at it?

Appearance

Anneli is a short elf, even by Dryad standards. She has piercing hazel eyes, and a dark shade of brown hair. Her skin is quite pale in contrast to her black chitin limbs. A pair of mandibles sit at the ends of her unnaturally split mouth (I don't know how to properly describe this but it's how characters like Juniper are sometimes drawn, where the mouth line goes beyond the lips and it can open extremely wide: https://imgur.com/a/5A8C45X). She has large fangs from which she can inject toxins, and a long, snake-like tongue.

Clothing

She wears a classy Berwick Dress. If things get ugly, she puts on a Ballistic Mask.
