Background
Cassie Trejo was born of mixed Aztlaner and Anglo blood in the DFW Sprawl. DFW, later becoming a city full of refugees from Houston, Austin, and other territory annexed by Aztlan, came to have a stark wealth gap and racial tension. It was in this environment Cassie grew up to become a street racer. Behind the wheel of a car, she could blaze through city streets and win big, and Lone Star couldn't catch her. She hung out with a gang of largely unaffiliated miscreants, small-time for the most part. A friend named Daniel "Boone" Powers was part of this gang. Older than the others, always seemed to outperform them by a wide margin. Rumor had it he was some sort of ex-military, but no one was sure. One night, they drew the wrong kind of attention. Lone Star showed up to the starting line and gunned everyone down before they could rev their engines. Boone didn't make it, but he left an expensive set of cyberware that was used to patch Cassie up and a line to the Technicolor Wings who had use for a good driver. She swore she'd take revenge one day, but the Wings had her head west for now. She smuggles whatever the Wings need these days, and they set her up with various shadowrunning gigs in the West.
