OOOWWWW my frickin head hurts... I should just learn invisibility instead of relying on my magically enhanced reflexes. Then I wouldnt get charged so hard, though I do wish I had positioned my spirit in front of my as well to prevent that in the first place. In any case, I hate insect spirits, they are gross and creepy and hard to kill. I wish I could get paid just by watching the muppets with Hunter and Rose.

Summary

Bug spirits were cooking explosives and stockpiling them to plan a terrorist attack

Background

The renton district DA has been infiltrated by bugs, and some of them have made their way to snohomish for nefarious purposes

The Meet

The meet was a regular affair. The runners were called in a hurry by Elizabeth Babbage to deal with a bomb threat, by an unknown terrorist location. They were offered 18k originally for the job, and given precious few details about the culprits.

The Plan

The first step was to track them down, and the second was to stop them without accidentally leveling an entire city block by setting off the explosive material in storage.

The Run

Flare calls Ghaz, who happens to know what she's looking for and gives her a list of potential locations to check. Reapsaw calls Rachel Raven and gets their own list, and comparing the two the team is able to narrow things down to only two locations. Chipset does some matrix searching, and finds more details that suggest that these terrorists might actually be insect spirits. Flare, investigating one of the areas, finds a number of insect spirits guarding a warehouse full of crates. The crates likely contain explosives. Trashcan Pete does much the same on the other location, finding a house being used for the cooking of the explosives themselves. The runners decide to engage the group at the warehouse full of ready-to-use explosives. In a frontal assault, they get a little beat up and flare is knocked unconscious, but manage to overcome the weight in numbers the insect spirits have. After about 6 seconds of bullets, spells, and swords flying, flashing, and slashing through the air the warehouse is secured without any unintentional explosives.

Aftermath

Terrorist plot foiled, Flare suffers a bad headache, and there are a few less insect spirits in the world.
