Background

Ji-Hye Jo was born on the streets of Seoul underneath the Korean military dictatorship. She grew up in a hood that was made up of mainly shifters, where they butted heads with other racial neighborhoods. Byeonsin Street was one of the few places Japanese and Korean get along, and Ji-Hye grew up learning both from her neighbors.

Growing up on the streets she could help but want to strike it big. Eventually her sights were set on becoming a star basketball player. She had the height even as a child, and was a growing adept to boot. So of course she took the option of figuring she'd just use magic to play. She made her dream on the street but was short sighted in finding that magic, and even adepts were banned from playing. This blew a hole in her plans, but she was getting a lot of respect and cash from streetball. She would've stayed if the Triads didn't have other plans for her.

After a record breaking game and getting record breaking amounts of shitface she stumbled back through the night to her home, where she was swiped and thrown in a bag to be shipped off to Seattle against her will. The next thing she knew, she was on an auction block to be sold. The whole thing went to hell real quick, as a runner team had fucked up and gone loud that happened to have a mission at the auction. The commotion was enough to wake Ji-Hye up enough to make an escape. Finding herself in Touristville, she eventually figured out where she was in the world and figured this was as good a start as any to trying to get rich.
