'''AAR:''' I met up with the team in a Hispanic diner in an alright part of town. Ashe and Dokkaebi were both elves, one a wiz with a sniper rifle, the other claimed to be a technomancer (Though all I ever really saw him to was look things up. Don't really need to be a braindecker to do that, eh Chummliechen?). The last one to sit down was a troll, Frau Bella, who gave me the Herzflimmerns when she merely looked in my direction.

We were just sitting down and getting to know each other when this Arschloch in a suit began swinging his credstick around and telling folks that he'd pay them to scram. This breach of discretion put as all out-of-ease, and our discomfort was not lessened when he then explained that he was hiring us to geek a Corporate-owned politico. Howard Cannon, senior vice president of Horizon's "Charisma Associates", Technocratic candidate, and current leader in the polls for the Seattle Gubernatorial elections. Now, I'm happy to jump at the chance to scrape some corporate-pig off the public scene, but the pile of Azzie corp-scrip we were being paid in made it fairly clear who we were working for.

Nevertheless, we agreed. We started out by scoping Herr Cannon's security and following his campaign. In an amusing alliance, it seemed that Horizon was working quite closely with Knight-Errant in this matter, and it seemed Horizon was holding the leash tight, as we witnessed proud, black-flag waving protestors take the stage and '''not''' be torn to ribbons by a hail of gunfire.

We decided that the best opportunity to do the job would be to take Cannon out while he was posing with workers on a clam-boat out in Elliot Bay. Our sniper, an elf by the name of Ashe, took the shot from the shore, but her round was caught in the stomach of a quick-thinking body guard (It pains me to see working-class peoples taking bullets for their oppressors, damn Arbeiterverräter). Thankfully our sniper was able to retreat back to my vehicle before a KE drone could get it's sights on her, and we made a speedy escape with her hidden in the smuggling compartment.

We went dark for about a week. A team was sent after us. The theatrics from the Johnson nearly got us caught, but we didn't leave much of a trail ourselves. We met back up, and set our sights on a fancy fundraising dinner at the top of the space needle. A plan developed. Bella would pose as an ex-ganger who had cleaned up her act and was starting an organization meant to "get metahumans from the barrens into positions of law-enforcement to reduce the violence that gripped the barrens under the archconservative party" and lead Herr Cannon away from his security team while Ashe took the shot from a nearby apartment building where we had rented an Airbnb. Ashe would wing Bella in the shoulder, whose getaway plan would be by ambulance, while Ashe would run down to the parking garage and hide in my vehicle's smuggling compartment.

The plan went on without a hitch. Bella was covered head-to-toe in corp-brains and screaming like a banshee as she was quickly escorted to a nearby hospital, and I was able to bluff our way through the security checkpoint.

Background

A group of Haven runners, hearing about the theft of the food from a food bank at a church in Touristville protected by the Crusher 495, decide to band together to deal with the issue.

Run

Runners discuss the situation over the Matrix, decide to meet and contact the leader of the Crusher 495. Paladin hits the streets to get the word out of wanting for a meet, manages to get one at the Crusher 495 bar. Meeting at the bar with PLA, a lieutenant of the gang, the team discuss with the theft with him, figuring out the robbery was done by the Electronic Crow gang, but that it wasn't their normal style. Promising to figure it out, the team hits the streets to gather info, learning that local grocery stores and bodegas are not taking food stamps any more. Paz spots a Horizon Flying Eye/Cu^3 scanning over everything, keeping an eye out, all while running silent. Going to the nearest bodega, Paladin and Paz talk to the owner, who mentions a film crew. The drone goes down low and watches the trio. Paz offers DNI to the store owner to talk while they shop. Learning that there is a film crew hounding bodegas to try to catch illict dealings/any evidence of purported abuse of the system, the two runners pay and leave, catching the eye of the drone. It SIN scans with an R4 SIN scanner. Paz's SIN comes up clean with 3/8 hits, but Paladin's ties with 4/8. A news van rolls up, and Aiden Wiley pops out to catch the runners by surprise with an ambush interview. Paladin turns it around by being condescending/insulting to Aiden and deflecting the questions, and eventually bringing up "known" issues with SIN scanner tech, Paladin manages to convince Aiden to SIN scan himself to prove a point. Someone in Aiden's stream pays 1000 nuyen to basically dare him into doing so, and so Aiden does. Fischer, who had been running Matrix overwatch, techno powers the SIN scanner into giving an error regarding his journalism degree. Thoroughly humiliated, Aiden and his team hauls hoop to do damage control for the inevitable scandal. This handled the situation regarding food thefts/food stamps as they had been the one to convince/pay off the Electronic Crows to do the original theft as the humiliation spreads across the Matrix, and the Crows return the food with an apology after a while.

Aftermath

Aiden Wiley has to deal with the scandal/humiliation due to the journalism degree flagging as an error/potentially falsified.

The local community around the Crusher 495 regains all the food that was stolen.
