Summary

CIA operative and conspiracy nut on the verge of committing what could charitably be called domestic terrorism. Radicalized by the inability of her organization to do good, she does what she can to survive and to help those in need. Currently on indefinite medical leave from work.

Background

Nakamura Aharen, once a dedicated CIA operative, always wanted to make a positive impact in the world. Initially forced into the CIA's ranks amidst allegations of domestic terrorism, Aharen embraced her role with cautious optimism. Over fifteen years, she navigated the complexities of espionage, steadfast in her commitment despite growing disillusionment. As time passed, Aharen found herself questioning the CIA's efforts for a leaner, stronger force of operatives through the relentless pursuit of augmentation favored by her colleagues, and pushed by her superiors. While others sought cybernetic enhancements, she remained loyal to her belief in non-intrusive bioware. Despite her reservations, Aharen dedicated fifteen years of her life to the cause.

However, Aharen's journey is marred by the aftermath of "Operation Early Sun," a traumatic CIA mission. Witnessing her squad fall victim to a malevolent Reaper spirit left her psychologically scarred, prompting her indefinite mental health leave. While she was placed on indefinite leave, the leave was on good terms. While she's not actively a CIA member, she keeps good contact with others from the organization, and finds a good ally in Kon Kon, her handler and friend on the outside.

Now residing in Seattle, Aharen seeks a new path aligned with her values. Determined to enact meaningful change on her own terms, she sets out to forge a future filled with purpose and hope.

Furthermore, Aharen staunchly refuses to compromise her integrity by accepting bribes or misusing her authority. Having witnessed firsthand the corruption festering within organizations like the CIA, she remains resolute in her commitment to upholding the trust placed in her. Throughout her career in various agencies, including the NTSB/PSB and CIA, Aharen has remained untainted by the lure of dishonest gain. Instead, she pledges to serve as a pillar of her community, a beacon of trustworthiness and reliability for those in need.

1. Do not serve the corrupt or enter into corruption.

Additionally, Aharen's dedication to her code extends to her refusal to serve the corrupt. While she acknowledges the complexity of certain situations, she draws a firm line against directly aiding syndicates or gangers whose interests perpetuate injustice. However, she remains open to assisting them if doing so ultimately serves the greater good. Conversely, Aharen holds those in positions of authority to the highest standards of accountability. Should she encounter corruption or misconduct within law enforcement or government agencies, she will subject their actions to rigorous scrutiny or refuse to cooperate altogether.
