Character Information

Hailey "Garuda" Roselin is 5'4", with pale skin and silver hair that goes down to her shoulders. From the top of her head are two small wings, with green and white feathers. There are also little green ear tufts on the side of her head; her ears are more like the inner ears of an owl. Her eyes are a dark green, and the smile she gives once she's comfortable shows off her venomous fangs and elongated tongue.Going from her shoulders to her arms, then down the back and stopping at the waist is a long array of downy feathers. They match the light green color of her tufts and allow her to keep warm. She often wears tank tops with pants, or shorts when she can afford to bear with the cold (she's cold blooded after all). She has a particular favorite green hoodie that she adores above all. She does own skirts and stockings, but she doesn't really wear them often, for personal and habitat reasons. She has a few different pairs of sneakers and boots, usually sticking with the sneakers.

Summary

A former drone engineer for Ares Macrotechnology turned hacker who prioritizes her decker skills along with a love of drones she's carried throughout her life, which she uses as both surveillance and extra support for her much more combat competent allies. While she isn't totally useless in a fight-her venom is worryingly potent after all- she isn't one to want to jump into combat at all if she can avoid it, still feeling rather squeamish at the business she's new to still. She's a changeling who often hides her appearance in public and more often isn't in public. Her need to stay heated to survive, discrimination at the hands of others, and her status as a fugitive of the law keeps her from making many public appearances. Though, she can't resist fiddling around in the Matrix at all, as it gives her a sense of freedom she can't afford to enjoy otherwise.

Background

Hailey Roselin is a woman of unfortunate circumstances. Born a changeling to her parents Matthias and Miriam in a corporate home in Massachusetts, her strange bird-like appearance earned the ridicule of her peers and her biological high maintenance earned her parents aggravation. Her only saving grace was her career prospects; she showed incredible intellect and an odd charm that made her easy to approach, which would let her thrive in the corporate environment of an Ares engineer she inherited from her father. She worked diligently, taking great pride and joy in her work on drone technology, and it was through the commonly shady behind the scenes work she went through for the company that she met two of the few people she could truly trust- a lupine fixer who went by Lucky and who later introduced her to her primary fence and smuggler, Nemona Primrose. They helped her feel at home for the first time in her life. She could explore her hobbies. Surf the net. Sing. Daydream about the world beyond the corporate existence she was caged to as she made deals with shadowrunners through Lucky or got emergency part shipments from Primrose. It wasn’t perfect, she was still always alone in the office-if she were lucky-and moving out of her parents’ home was less a coming of age and more a ‘good riddance’ from them, but she was satisfied. Perhaps one day, if she worked hard enough, she could maybe take a vacation. Gather her few friends and see the world beyond the corporate barriers she worked behind. Even if it was gritty and dark, she wanted to experience it. To live a little. To feel like she could be by their side.

And then Max came along.

Maximus Hierphontes, or just Max or Maxy to those who knew him personally, was her new superior after a very odd department transfer for the avian girl. He was…uncomfortable for Hailey. Drove her away from her only friends, then her coworkers. Keeping her alone. Keeping her for himself. Asking for strange favors and flipping out with rage when she dared to refuse him. As she began wanting to leave, he used his position to force her to work and live in remote facilities under his control. Keeping her body temperature down to keep her weak and frail, unable to fight back. She was terrified for her safety, pushed into terrible conditions, and one day when he attempted once more to enact his control, she…snapped. Bit down onto him as he was surprised, pumping venom into his body. From there, she didn’t bother looking back. She ran to the streets, finally got back in contact with Lucky, and realized she had two options: accept the punishment for killing an executive of Ares, or run for her life on the edge. She chose the second option, moving over to Seattle with the help of Lucky and with gear from Primrose, she embarked on the start of her new life.

1	Garuda is a new arrival to Shadowhaven, having only been on the Grid for some months and rather sparsely at that. Despite her lack of appearances, she seems to leave quite an impression to those who've met her.
3	While the handle seems rather fruitless for information, her picture seems to be on the databases of some Ares facilities. Though the information available leaves it unclear as to whether she was a worker or a threat.
6	Garuda, or possibly someone with Garuda's face (as unlikely as that would be) is the former technician Haiely Roselin, a suspect in the case of one Maximus Hierphontes. The man was assaulted in one of his private facilities and injected with an incredibly deadly venom, though details over whether he actually survived or not are inconclusive.
