Character Information

Summary

A shorter man in his early 30's, Markus looks a bit jaded and world weary. Oh, he still flies the Neo-Anarchist flag, keeps up with politics, and all the best punk rock bands. But the time he spent in the AGS army, and jobs he's done now in Seattle seem to be dulling his edge a bit. His ex-wife and children too, keep him grounded. Rebecca is one to remind him of his paternal obligations. How much longer will he be in this game? At least...one more run.

Background

Born in Hamburg in 2046 to S-K employees (an engineering technician and payroll clerk), Markus didn't take to the Corp Life like his parents and adopted sister did. Both children were outgoing in different ways. Cassandra was the actress, Markus couldn't keep his mouth shut. She got minor acting jobs, he got minor charges for spreading Neo-Anarchist propaganda and fighting Humanis gangs. Finally, parents laid down the law. So, he tried to turn his life around and joined the AGS Army in 2064...just in time for the Matrix Crash 2.0. Deployed for humanitarian relief, his stint did little to quell his corporate distrust. It did give him an outlet and hone his rifle skills. When he left the service, he was still just as punk but now could hold his tongue enough to really get to work. He left the AGS in 2070, landed in UCAS. He got married to a fun "perkygoth" girl who worked as a Medical Examiner, named Rebecca Volker, another AGS expat. But work for someone who only knows how to fight was slim on the East Coast. So, with two kids in tow, he convinced Rebecca to move the family to Seattle. There, he found 'work'. Got a new identity, new sources of income. And lost his family due to the strain of keeping those lives seperate. Now, he runs. He tries to be a good dad and a good runner, working hard for his employers and his kids. Tough balance to strike...

Appearance

About 5'6" tall, if you don't count the couple inches his hair gives him. Emerald green eyes, black hair intentionally dyed red very poorly, black stubble around his chin and cheeks. Fair skin, though slightly tanned. Multiple piercings in his ears; industrials, lobes, upper cartilage.

Clothing

Everyday wear? Punk's Not Dead! Worn jeans, black leather boots with spikes and studs around the calf and toe, a T-shirt or hoodie of some low rent punk band no one's ever heard of before, topped with his black leather jacket. The jacket is covered in patches; Neo-Anarchist, band logos, his military unit patch, and a running ton of safety pins and yet more studs.
Business wear? He cleans up pretty good, save for the hair. Simple black suit, white shirt, red tie. Little Neo-Anarchist lapel pin, because he can't resist.
Run wear? Armored Jacket (of course with patches and pins) and a Ballistic Mask, adorned with graffiti from whomever wants to. He knows he "should" wear a helmet, but that'd cover up his hair and he can't have that.

Matrix Persona

Looks a lot like him, though maybe a little taller. He plays into the nickname though, and appears in a white chef's coat, red chef pants, black non-slip shoes and a classic white Chef's Toque.
