Corporate Samurai on a quest for revenge.

• Slay them to wipe the dishonor of their actions from herself, her Lord, and Renraku.

Background

Coming from survivors of the Yomi island concentration camp, Shizuka's family was lucky enough to find employment with Renraku Computer Systems at a facility on the island before the decree was rescinded in 2062. Being born into the megacorporation's care - even as an Oni restricted to living in a secured compound on that hellhole for the earliest years of her life - meant she was able to avoid most of the malnutrition and disease that ravaged many of her peers from the island.

For most of her childhood, as soon as she had been taught to read and speak proper Japanese, she joined her classmates in the hero-worship of the idea of the Samurai: Strong, noble warrior-philosophers, defending their people (and corporation) against all foes, honorably serving their (corporate) lords even unto death. For some, this was mere idle fancy, which would be discarded once they graduated and joined the corporate work force as office drones. But not for Shizuka. She instead would follow her dream into the Renraku Security Forces, going through their basic training by day and undergoing private Kenjutsu training by night. Nothing would stop her from her goal.

Eventually, it happened: She was promoted into the Corporate Samurai, granted her Daisho, and... promptly left to rot. At least, at first; the combination of Female and Oni was enough to give many misgivings about her despite having earned her place, and no response team or executive wanted her... at first. After some time, she found herself offered a position as bodyguard to an executive in the San Francisco office. Speaking precisely no English at the time, but seeking to prove she was not a mistake, she set off for the California Free State.

On arrival, she found herself assigned to an... eccentric individual, one of the few relatively progressive executives in the megacorporation. While, of course, human and male himself, he found no issues with metahumans working for the corporation, and found many of their strengths to be 'charming and useful'. While not the wealthiest of Lords she could have been assigned to, he was at least kind and honorable. But unpopular. He knew of threats to himself from inside Renraku from other executives, but unfortunately he did not foresee the route they chose to use to eliminate him.

Subtly sabotaging his business areas and responsibilities, his enemies methodically destroyed him, and worse, his honor. His health deteriorated from the stress that she could do nothing to prevent as his superiors became increasingly infuriated with the threat to their stability, and all too soon it was 'requested' that he take the honorable path out. She acted as kaishakunin to her former Lord in this, the last service she could offer to him. But from the sick smiles from the witnesses made it clear - to her mind, at least - who was responsible. Marking each in her mind's eye, as she knelt before her former master's body, she silently swore to avenge him.

Setting out, she placed herself into contact with an individual she knew to be a Fixer - met during her previous service, his commcode retained by her Lord following their business dealings for future opportunities - and utilized an emergency slush fund that had yet to be siphoned off by the cabal of Executives in order to afford the... basic necessities of her new life.

Code of Honor Restrictions

• Formerly followed Bushido 2.0, now is Ronin. Takes to it Very Seriously. Personal definitions of (entirely fluff-based) rules below.
• Gi, Righteousness: Must remain pure, clean. No taint of Lust, Wine, or Drugs.
• Yuki, Courage: First in, Last out. Put abilities on display when requested.
• Jin, Kindness: Never be harsh to underlings. Rely on wordly possessions as little as possible, give away what is not needed.
• Rei, Respect: Know one's manners, know common courtesy, know proper social mores. A Samurai is an artisan as well as a poet, reflect Lord (or similar figure) well in art.
• Makoto, Honesty: Never be dishonest. Do not use underhanded tricks in battle. Never strike without stating name and intent.
• Meiyo, Honor: Never bring shame upon the Emperor, your Lord or his house, your Ancestors, or your own name. Never break your word, even if it means death. Do not give your word lightly.
• Chugi, Loyalty: Once one's loyalty is pledged to a Lord, it is unbreakable even beyond death. Never lie or steal from your Lord. Never undermine your Lord in public. If your Lord demands you take your own life, you do so gladly.

SINner (Corporate) (Renraku/Corporate Samurai - Kita Shizuka)

• Starting as a Corporate SINner from birth, she slogged through long, hard training in Renraku's systems, and finally was granted a full Corporate Samurai SIN for her talent. She was assigned as a bodyguard, as Women and Metahumans are rarely allowed to act as response team members.

Signature (Leaves behind a Haiku for each Run)

• Composes a Haiku relevant to the run to be left behind. Typically done in physical form, unsigned, on a sheet of paper. Carving it into walls is acceptable if time permits.

Appearance

Slightly below average height for an Oni, Shizuka still towers over most humans while being made almost purely out of dense muscle. Despite this flaw, courtesy of her heavy augmentations, she still manages to affect the typical feminine grace expected of Japanese women.

Clothing

Casual: Tends to follow Neotokyo trends. Prefers skirts to pants, but still ends up in pants most of the time just for the sake of practicality. Professional: Vashon Island's Synergist Business Line, usually with an additional Longcoat added. Shadowrun Uparmoring: Add a Fox-stylized Kabuki Mask, forearm guards and leg guards to the Professional setup.
