Summary

Taka. A hawk. A birds-eye view of everything in the area. Information is key, and whoever has it can open the lock to any interaction in an instant. In a life where people will lie and stab you in the back for another hit, you can always rely on the facts and raw data to watch your six. Taka always has the upper hand in battles of blackmail and information. His experience as a decker on the streets of major cities has given him the upper hand in knowing where to look for information. The raw urban lifestyle of sprawling cityscapes and grey, rainy environments makes it easy to keep your head low and yourself safe. And all around it, in places you can and can't see, is an endless sea of code and data known as the matrix. It's a hacker's paradise and a target's worst nightmare.

Background

Taka grew up on the streets of Manhattan while studying computers and technology in his free time. He's always loved music and followed old indie and rock bands that were around in the 10s and 20s, his favorite being a small, New York City-based band called Clavvs. He hopes someday he can explore the now-submerged city like finding Atlantis. He began learning about coding in middle school when a competition of a 24 web design challenge emerged in his school. This led to him becoming obsessed with all things digital, from video games to matrix warfare. In high school, he expanded his knowledge to begin learning about how the matrix worked, and all the small subtleties it had to offer. Out of school, he began to hack small sites with poor security. He worked his way up before hitting larger areas, such as informational and political campaigns. After hitting a small-time drug dealing operation, he went camping upstate for a few days in order to take off some of the heat that was on him. He took walks around a lake and noticed a hawk, silently trailing for him. He picked up his signature and namesake from the experience, reveling in the speed and efficiency of such a bird.

After high school, he decided to continue studying and went to college. He learned more about megacorps in economics courses and developed a life philosophy of keeping the digital world as a safe haven of freedom from big brother. After getting a bachelor's majoring in matrix design he moved to Seattle in order to pursue his goal of stopping the mega-corps from taking over the digital world as well. After moving to Seattle, he quickly found out about the morally diverse underground of odd jobs and hit missions known as Shadowrunning. His background in computers made him a natural decker and a reliable hacker. He's since been desensitized to violence and crazy situations, but he won't hurt or let others hurt kids. He tries to keep innocents and collateral to a minimum.

He currently resides in a small apartment in Bellvue and continues to maintain his technological proficiency. He enjoys riding around the city on his bike and listening to music, either live or recorded.

Appearance

Physical

Black hair with a distinctive tattoo on his left cheek. Blue eyes and fair skinned. 6'1'' and 174 pounds. Works out enough to not look like a complete twig, but probably couldn't hold his own in a brawl.

Clothing

Usually seen in street clothes with a plain or graphic tee shirt and a protective black jacket, almost always wearing blue or black jeans. Boots or sneakers are interchangeable depending on the weather. When going out somewhere nice he has a small collection of polo and button down shirts with the same two ties, as well as a single suit for fancy occasions.

An Argentinian man with a grey beard and flared, brown hair. Modeled after the SIAMÉS band member, Stoltz, from the late 10s and early 20s. Often seen with some type of jacket and black shades.
