Background

Yata had been one of Seattle's Nocturna elves, working to pay the rent and make a living for herself now that she was out on her own. That all changed when Evo's Special Security Detail came in the night to black bag the young Adept, for the purposes of developing bioware and geneware for the Nocturna metavariant, as well as a few other, darker purposes.

Those purposes would be revealed as something in the facility caused her to change. Almost overnight, she started to mutate, Evo's ultimate goal of forcing a SURGE mutation realized, and over a week or two, her transformation would be complete. With enthusiasm, Evo's scientists renewed their experimentation on her, finding that her changes were far more than simply cosmetic. In fact, it was better than they had expected, as Yata proved to be even more capable than the most gifted Nocturna could be without training, running faster and farther, her senses improved to the point they started to consider putting her through training to join the SSD.

Of course, their plans were cut short when a group of Runners broke into the the Evo HQ, and in the scuffle, she and other Evo experiments were released. Now, she's back on the streets, and rather motivated to not wind up back in their clutches.
