Summary
An independent wanted revenge for the death of her sister. This led to an entire church being burned down, 20 metaracists dead, and Snohomish on alert for incredibly high force fire spirits.
Background
Moira Coriana is not a typical Johnson. She despises having to work with the Haven due to the...hit or miss nature of some of its operators. However, this night was different. This night, a growing sect of the Humanis movement who had begun co-opting Christian Theurgy as a means to 'right the wrongs that drive the world to madness and disharmony' had found her dwarven sister, Katalina, trying to move through Snohomish unperturbed. Humanis acted accordingly, and the moment Moira realized what they had done she knew they would have to pay in blood for their crimes. Using her sparse contacts in the Haven, she located the current base of operations of the suspects and set out to see them punished severely for this crime.
The Meet
The meeting was incredibly impromptu, in an alleyway, with Moira's associates in the mafia taking position as bodyguards as the three runners arrived. The job was simple: 20k for 20 bodies. Doesn't matter how they do it. They just all needed to die. If a single one escaped? No pay. The runners, upon hearing that they were Humanis, eagerly obliged. Lanky was a bit worried about it, given that this might have been his own church he went to in high school, but Rurosha didn't mind at all and Annette was ecstatic. They got half up front as insurance for a good job, and then the mourning woman was off to get down into her bottles.
The Plan
The plan was incredibly simple: make spell preparations, then have Lanky and Rurosha flank the back as a great spirit from Annette rushed the front. Pincer their forces, kill them all. They floated around demolitions ideas, but being in a B zone it might be a bit more heat than they were willing to go through.
The Run
A force 14 fire spirit is incredibly noticeable, so it worked as an amazing lure right out in the front of the church. 8 of the disciples in the main church at the time went to meet it, as a priest and his coterie prepared to flee in the back only for Lanky and Rurosha to intercept them and eliminate them. The places WERE warded, but the spirit made short work of the barriers. While they were outnumbered, the focus on the spirit did lead to the group being relatively safe overall in dealing with their numbers. They burned the entire church down, elmeental auras and all that, and scrubbed what signatures were left behind before making a hasty retreat.
Aftermath
Moira was incredibly pleased to hear about 20 fresh bodies, and the sheer destruction sent chills down the spines of others in the movement. However, it also seems to have fueled the flames so to speak on anti-magical sentiments in Snohomish.
At least the runners got paid.
