Summary

A former veterinarian student doing crime to pay the bills and right some wrongs. And maybe meet a great dragon. Specifically Mameleu (Masaru), frag the rest.

Background

Lily lived a rather different life than most SINless children. Her adoptive father, a street doc with connections all over the depths of Seattle, was able to afford to front them a relatively comfortable lifestyle, decent quality fake SINs and the odd payment on a downtown apartment to send his daughter to the best public schools the city could offer. The young gnome did as all her classmates did: Gymnastics in elementary school, Horse Back Riding in Middle and High school, clubbing on spring break and living the life of someone who was going to successfully escape the barrens. It all came to a head when it was discovered Lilly would not be following in her father's footsteps and beginning to train under him to take over the family business, but instead had applied to and been accepted to an accelerated Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) three year program. She had already secured a job tending bar at a downtown club, and had hoped her father would share in her excitement. He did not, and the ensuing fight created an undeniable rift between the two, father accusing daughter of being weak willed and unfit for the job he had at hand or that she was simply not skilled enough to even treat animals. The argument only ending when Lily pointed out that she'd have access to things a lot cheaper and safer than what he could get for his clients. That night she moved out, never to speak to her father again.

Having orphaned herself, Crunch spent the next two years working herself as hard as she could to both pay her bills honestly and be the pinnacle of what it meant to be a vet. This changed at the start of her final year; the registrar's office had a change of staff, meaning that the usual person to bribe to ignore her SIN wasn't there anymore, and her SIN failed to pass muster. Except, due to the change over, the bribe had gone out with her tuition, and she was working late in one of the labs when one of her classmates rushed in to warn her of the spreading gossip. Thanking them, Lily asked to be alone. Once the doors were closed, her world crumbled. In the simple act of doing right, her world had been undone; her job, her home, her schooling and even *her* were gone. Losing literally everything and the shifting mana the spelled the trouble of The Anniversary led to a violent awakening. Finally calming, her hand brushed across the table as she went to stand, sending her into visions of the last major imprint left in the room--A cornered animal being hurt? Experimented on? by the person they loved dearly. Betrayed. She couldn't tell as it all happened so fast, the pain and fear sharply harmonizing with that of her experience that school had given her. The result was a traumatic evening, the gnome rushing home and passing out in her apartment after breaking in. Fueled by that same primal fear, she didn't sleep long, gathering what she could and feeling back to Purity.

She has bills to pay, answers to seek, and a degree to take back.

Animal Lover (Animal Empathy) - A life long softie for all things not metahuman, Crunch had dreams of being a vet, even trying to see if Dragons would be potential patients.

Adeptly Pacifistic (Adept, Alibi, Pacifist Adept) - Crunch isn't like most other adepts you'll find in the shadows, the aura of calm and civility she brings with her is a sharp indicator of how she really feels about the violence around her.

Magical Eyes (Arcane Arrester 2, Seer, Thermographic Vision) - Born with magic running through her blood, it wasn't long before she was aware of it around her, and learned how to see it.
