Character Information
Summary
A seidman from Germany, Drengr is a man who ended up stuck in the runner life for his mistakes early on with money, and who was betrayed by someone he now looks for.
Goals
Find who framed him for the neglect of his son, causing him to lose custody and only be able to see him every other weekend, and kill them. Be able to retire and set up a better life for his wife and son.
Background
Just 1 year after Berlin lost its anarcho-state quality, in 2056, in the Freistaat Bayern, Ekkehard Voigt was born. His family was very much of the Astaru religion, and being near the edge of the border of Bavaria, there was a locale near the edge of a valley where many Norsemen and women gathered. The reason for hiding out on the fringes, where normally cults and gangs build their territory, is due to the leader, Meister Bauer, and his rather unsavoury methods and rites, and the smaller nature of the Norse religion within Bavaria compared to more northern parts of the Allianz Deutscher Länder. And Ekkehard would feel these rites and their effects very quickly, both the magical effect, seeming to sense things the non-Awakened didn't, and the more painful physical and mental effects from seeing rather brutal displays, he'd grow somewhat desensitised which would turn out to be far worse than just under-reaction to certain events. Though, he wasn't completely lost during this time, as his dedication to the Allfather would keep him at least somewhat above the sinking line of the group.
At the dawn of his adulthood in 2074, surviving the coming-of-age ceremony, he'd quickly fall in love with a woman known as Irmgard Koch, who was equally quick to reciprocate. After a few years, at 22, they'd get married - within the Astaru group, of course, but also with legal paperwork making it properly official. However, seidr doesn't exactly pay the bills, and his years of witnessing brutal and revelry in confusion, made him make the worst decision of his entire life - he was to become a Shadowrunner, as all he could do was provide his magical services, but from his dislike of Renraku becoming a dedicated Wagemage wouldn't be exactly the goal. And while such dangerous work made him able to provide a life for his young son - only 1 by the time they got married - it also improved his magical skills out of necessity. His ritual skills, which made Meister grow bitter; he was now upstaging him during their rituals, and his growing dedication to Óðinn manifesting in what magical scientists would call a "Mentor Spirit" despite less prevalent direct astral manifestations, and instead the appearances through physical changes during magical acts, would be the straw which broke the camel's back.
Meister would take to the son the recently named Drengr, offering him supposedly "blessed water" which turned out to be pure vodka which caused the boy, Lukas Voigt, to become incredibly ill due to only being 4 at the time. While Ekkehard wasn't at the place, the Bundesgrenzschutz saw it as clear evidence of horrendous neglect, but was able to limit it to that, as luckily Bauer left open a cabinet, implying the kid himself managed to get it. After a somewhat lengthy court battle, he was only granted the ability to see his son on every other weekend, as he was deemed a danger to young Lukas. Irmgard knew he didn't do it, but neither knew who really did, so they tried to head to Seattle - suggested my Ekkehard as merely a way to potentially regain custody, yet secretly also a ploy for him to get a better Shadowrunning gig as Seattle has quite the reputation around it for less scrupulous jobs, and he entered the life once, meaning he was stuck. Though, the court order managed to be rekindled in Seattle, despite being originally from ADL, he lost custody a second time upon the government within Seattle finding out about his previous loss in Bavaria. This new lost settled a new goal, as he rented a small apartment for himself to live in - he was going to find out who could've done this, and enact proper justice, even if his son will never have a true family like before.
Narrative Significant Qualities
Positive
Chain Breaker - The spirits willingly come from the 9 worlds to Midgard, and so to trap them down here is a travesty like no other. Seeing these spirits be bound fills him with rage to no end.
Mentor Spirit (Oracle) - Less present than usual mentor spirits, Drengr is guided by his prayers to the All-Father and sudden inspiration, instead of directly speaking to the lord of the Aesir.
Common Sense - While he occasionally makes brash decisions, Drengr's not an idiot, and has pretty common hunches when things may turn sour.
Negative
Computer Illiterate - Most of his life has been spent around people who range from just uninterested to full on luddites, and so hasn't had the opportunity to become accustomed to even simplistic usages of technology.
Dependent (Son he is only able to visit every other weekend) - Due to the setup from the court, he is only able to visit his son on every other weekend, and will *not* miss the opportunity, costing him time and money.
Driven - He is driven to find who framed him for neglect of his son and to kill them, and nothing will stop him of this goal short of being sent directly to Valhalla.

Matrix Persona
Just a standard icon, he doesn't know how to change it.
