Goals

Empress seeks to raise herself from the dregs of society and establish herself as a well-to-do respectable, feared, but loved woman - much like she once was in Tir na nOg.

Background

Ciara's story is rather unfortunate. She used to be pretty well off when she still lived in Tir na nOg. This changed when a rival family put into action various plans to see Ciara's family displaced and without anything. Fortunately, none of her family members were killed, but they all left Tir na nOg before that changed; Unfortunately, circumstances dictated that they had to disappear separately. Ciara headed to Seattle after a severely daunting journey to an airport while avoiding her family's enemies who weren't satisfied with what harm they had already caused.

As luck would have it, Ciara had no choice but to move into Puyallup as she barely had any money or belongings to her name, but she had heard of a particularly secure ghetto for Elves called Tarislar. It was here that Ciara made her new home after making a deal with the Laesa Syndicate - providing them with some assistance in return for enough funds to get herself settled in. Ciara is not technically a member of the Syndicate, but she has done work for them on several occasions now - most of which wasn't as unsavory as she had expected from what mostly constituted a criminal organization.

On one of the more particularly dangerous and shady jobs Ciara did the Syndicate, the elven woman had a run-in with a sentient, but paranoid Banshee who was also desperately hungry. By the time she realized that it was indeed a Banshee she was trying to ask for information from, she was already bitten and infected. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately depending on one's outlook, Ciara did not die, but became a Banshee herself. By the time she woke up again, she was alone - the one who had attacked her long gone.

Ciara managed to finish the job she was on once she had regained her strength - a process that required her to attack another innocent person who ultimately died from the feeding - but she was shaken to the core by what had happened to her and deals with occasional Insomnia because of the horror she had committed out of personal necessity. Ciara noticed that her transformation didn't really change how she looked all that much. She was maybe a little thinner in the face and a little more waifish, but she could pass as a normal elf in most circumstances. Considering her particular set of skills of the influential and diplomatic variety, this was a bit of good luck for Ciara. She also found she was faster and maybe even smarter, but she also found out the hard way that she wasn't as physically strong as she was before - struggling to do any real heavy lifting on her own. Considering her other improvements, she considered this to be an inconvenient, but worthwhile trade.

These days, Ciara spends her time honing her speechcraft and ability to talk and seduce her way out of situations. She uses the strength of others to keep herself alive, though she has some tricks to employ if the need arises. Whether or not it is a result of her infection or simply her upbringing going into overdrive to make sense of her world, Ciara has started getting feelings of superiority compared to others due to her quicker mind, reflexes and eloquence (much like a fallen noblewoman in old times might've tried to continue treating peasants like her underlings), and she sort of looks down on those who enjoy employing more brutal and inarticulate methods of problem-solving. She enjoys being in the spotlight and telling others how best to use their skills to their - but especially her - benefit. She is obsessed with looking her best, and gets severely distraught and irritable if anything throws of her appearance even slightly.
