Character Information

Summary

He^rt, also known as [#!Runner name]. Their story began as their parents were working full time for Renraku in Indonesia. Struggling from an internal crisis at the time, Renraku restructured, leaving their parents out in the rain. Struggling to find a place in Indonesia, their family moved to Seattle when He^rt was a child, hoping for a fresh start. However, their dreams were shattered, as they fell into exploitation and mistreatment yet again, in the very city they sought refuge in.

Left to fend for themselves as an teen, He^rt turned to the underworld, partaking in all manor of deed to help make ends meet, He^rt began exploring their new home and those parts of it some might consider unworthy of their time. After a time, their urban exploring and scavenging brought them upon an underground drone racing circuit, He^rt was immediately hooked. Finding solace and purpose in underground drone racing. It was in this dangerous and exhilarating world that He^rt met Sylphiette, a mysterious fixer operating in the underground black market and infosec circles. Sylphiette recognized He^rt's potential and became an invaluable ally, providing fresh gigs and ensuring their success as a formidable duo in the racing circuit.

He^rt quickly rose through the ranks of the circuit, eventually earning a name for themself as a hotshot with a penchant for hot-simming to give themself an edge in the races. The turning point in their career came when Ares, a powerful corporation, entered the drone racing scene with a cutting edge new model. These races had become incredibly high stakes with corps and crime organisatins both betting hundreds of thousands of nuyen. Fuelled by a burning resentment towards corporate negligence, and their own bolstered ego, He^rt pushed themself to their absolute limit, hot-simming into their own drone for the entire race against Ares, knowing full well the potential side effects, nearly securing a spectacular victory. However, the Ares team, unwilling to accept defeat and determined to eliminate any threats to their superiority, had already sent a decker against the unaware He^rt. The resulting STUX type cyberattack mid race caused their drone to explode in what seemed like an unfortunate crash, in which He^rt suffered massive dump shock, paralyzing them and ruining their gear.

In the aftermath of the accident, Sylphiette continued to be He^rt's confidante and source of support. Leveraging her black market connections, Sylphiette facilitated He^rt's acquisition of the advanced cyberware needed to interface with what would become their surrogate body, an anthro drone acquired on the cheap with what remained of He^rt's winnings. With this new form, He^rt could navigate the physical world once again, blending technology and humanity in their quest for justice against the corporations that had irrevocably altered their life, and a path of vengeance fuelling their seeking the decker that paralyzed them, a one Edea Thayer.

Resilient and determined, He^rt, confined to a rigger cocoon and assumed brain-dead by the corp that attacked them, took this opportunity to go into hiding. Their anthro drone served as a new face they finaly started using the moniker He^rt. Drawing on every resource they had left at their disposal and Supported by Sylphiette, He^rt embarked on a life of clandestine operations to support their family and seek justice against the corporations that had wronged them. Sylphiette, with her connections in Seattle Software and Special Investigations, played a crucial role in He^rt's transition from drone racing to full-fledged rigging.

As He^rt embraced their new identity as a shadowrunner, they collaborated with a diverse group of skilled individuals, including Sylphiette, Mischief, Mayhem, Jules Le Fleur, and Kate Markson at S3I. The camaraderie within the team was palpable, with He^rt remaining cautious about relationships but optimistic about their collective mission to help their community and family.

But not all was work for He^rt, they also spent plenty of time giving back to their community by supporting those in need of access to technology, urban exploring for scavenging in the Orc Underground, and spending time by their caretaker and faithful partner, [#!Caretaker name].

Appearance

Most people will never see He^rt's true face as they use their anthro drone for almost all social interactions.

Clothing

They wear a shrug hoodie made from a repurposed urban exploration jumpsuit, the hood has been modified with a set of car ears, underneath they wear a simple a cropped shirt. On their lower half they wear an armoured jacket with the sleeves tied around their waist over a skirt or a pair of cuttoff shorts. On their legs are a pair of stockings covered by knee high boots adorned in rows of buckles.
