Background

Anna was, once, a simple wage slave working a simple job for Fed-Boeing. She lived in Seattle her entire life, born and raised, and was content to enter the work force for the biggest employer in the city and live out until retirement, not becoming involved in the shadows. That is, until the SURGE. Anna had attended a Halley's Comet viewing party with some friends from high school, one part celebration of her getting a job and one part a farewell to their childhoods. Under the light of the comet, though, Anna changed. It felt as though the grass she was laying in was growing into her skin. In the pain of the sudden mutation, she passed out. Upon awakening, she realized that she had become a plant-human hybrid of some sort, due to the effects of what had been dubbed the SURGE. Fortunately enough for her, Seattle had been used to goblinization for long enough that she had gotten medical help and analysis. Under this analysis, her suspicions based on her green skin were confirmed, that her metabolism had become partially photosynthetic. However, to her surprise, the doctors said that she had become much like a foxglove flower, including the incorporation of Digoxin into her bodily fluids. Additionally, testing had revealed that she had become Awakened during the mutational shift, manifesting adept powers.

However, Boeing was less than happy about Anna's new look, and her contract of employment was terminated. Unable to find a job further, due to the aforementioned mutation, Anna turned to the streets, eventually coming to find employment at the Butterfly Effect, where her exotic looks and awakened abilities were considered a benefit rather than a detriment to her employment potential. Madame Butterfly even trained Anna in her awakening, teaching her how to use her adept powers to change her looks as she desired to best service the general mood of the establishment. However, even there she found her employment progression limited, toxic bodily fluids proving rather harmful to clientelle that got a little too handsy. After one such incident, Madame Butterfly took Anna aside and told her that she could no longer be allowed to perform, but there were other jobs that she could pursue.
