Character Information

Summary

A former salaryman given a second chance at life. Having a latent awakening in a coffin motel of all things and given a chance to climb himself out of the hole he landed in.

Goals

• Study magic under his sensei and become as good as her eventually.
• Work to lessen the suffering of common people.
• Open up his own medical clinic and potentially a soup kitchen as well.
• Actively exterminate and defend people against the dark things that go bump in the night.
• Become a torch that keeps the darkness at bay.

Background

Troy Stone was born into Neonet and was raised as a corporate wageslave. Growing up, life was good. He completed his schooling, he went into his job young and bright eyed. The corporation gave him plenty of bioware that he gladly signed his life away to get, going into corporate plans to work for the rest of his life.

Then the boston lock down happened. CFD hit and NeoNet was found guilty of causing it. As a normal mundane office worker, his life practically fell out before him. Every single person he knew, every friend he had was cut loose as the corporation was flailing about. His department was thrown to the street, his corporate SIN revoked. With no actual magical ability he was deemed not worth salvaging in the buyouts that happened. Yeah he had 'ware, but in the grand scheme of things it was the drop in the in ocean to the losses NeoNet was suffering. He tried to keep what friends and co-workers he could together, sticking together for strength as they tried to scramble and secure their lives.

Over the coming months he watched as one by one his friends fell into vice, disappear or were coerced due to their emotions by darker things. It was a cold winter night in Seattle when he magically awoke in coffin motel. He became a mage, albeit, barely one. The firebringer put a fire in his body and asked of him earnestly to change and grow, but to go a pier in Seattle. Overlooking the bay he was greeted by a fox of all things, starting his friendship with his sensei and current mentor. With no SIN, and only a way up from hitting rock bottom, he has adopted the name Ignis as a persona to keep his sanity in check.
