Character Information

Summary

Tall, dark, and ugly, Junk Dog struts his stuff like he's in charge. When you're king of the ring you get to act big. But here in the shadows he's a noobie, and facing off against magic and bullets. The only weapon he needs is his wrapped hands and a face to put them to. Loaded in a snazzy armored jacket repping his old ring he takes on the underworld as a Runner.

Goals

To make a name for himself in the shadows, and strike it big while doing so.

Personality

A loud, braggadocios individual who sees most people as those who'll be fans of his soon or enemies that need to be broken. Loves the spotlight and loves to run his mouth.

Appearance

A tan man with a face only a mother could love. Done up in scars and stitches trying to put it back to it's original shape after taking so many blows- but his body is that of near peak performance, his arms not betray the human eye to think they're anything but.

Clothing

Black t-shirt with an armored jacket styled to his personal, flashy tastes. Has simple cloth wrapped around his hands at all times during a run for when it's go time.

Matrix Persona

His icon is of a boxer in long golden robes that drape over his face and body, leaving the front exposed to show huge muscles.

In Play

Legwork: Knowledge Skills

Junk has limited knowledge for most subjects, but knows a good deal about dealing with the street gangs of Seattle as well as with the Vory.

Infiltration

While not his forte Junk Dog does come with some extra skills in things relating to infiltration, have a modest 7 dice in palming and sneaking with 8 in disguise. He may not be the first option but having these in a pinch can help.

Chases: On foot & in vehicles

At times there will be moments when you have to chase someone down, while on foot Junk Dog has 8 dice to gymnastics and running, which will keep him in the chase for fleeing targets. When they get into vehicles Junk dog begins to shine more, having 12 dice to catch his target.

Gear

Junk Dog packs a lot of gear to assist him in areas he's sorely lacking in, but when it comes to combat you don't have to worry about gear much. Be sure though if you can to do a bit of Kamikazi first and foremost to ensure you have the advantage.

Combat Options

Junk Dog does well in combat when he can move fast and hit hard. Grabbing and using Kamikaze will ensure you go first in combat and can do as much damage as possible while being able to use your martial arts effectively. Remember first and foremost Junk excels in combat against one on one opponents or those that are surprised. Work with your team to pick a single target for you to take down quickly. Mages and Deckers are usually good ones to go for regardless.

Martial Arts

Junk Dog has a lot of martial training, being a boxer. He is a Brawler Boxer, meaning he gets in close and does a lot of damage. this is reflected by abilities like Full Offence (RG 121). You won't be able to do any defensive options and have to subtract 5 from your initiative but you get +2 dice to hit, and you should have plenty of initiative afterwards.

When dealing with bigger, heavier foes it might be best to use Stagger (RG 141) to shake them up enough to gain an advantage in fights. Your really good at making called shots but be sure your opponent won't dodge too easily with the penalty.

Then when it's time to really put on the hurt use Haymaker (RG 121), a wild punch meant for power rather than precision. It gives the enemy a small bonus to defend at +2, but you get a nice +1 to the DV of your strike.

And there's only one thing better than a solid offense when in Melee combat, and that's to also have a damn good defense. Opposing Force [Block] (RG 139) will give you a bonus to protecting yourself during a fight with another person ready to scrap it out.

Background

Rick was born and raised in Redmond, learning how to live in the asphalt jungle. Growing up he got in a lot of fights. With his brothers, with the neighbourhood bullies, and it turned out he was pretty tough. Tough enough to attract the attention of the local fighting ring in his area. From there he showed his metal in the pit, putting the hurt on anybody that stepped up to battle. It gave him a bit of an ego. Enough of one that when going toe-to-toe with a troll from the Triad he talked a mad game only to get smushed.

Arms were nearly ripped to shreds. It looked like for a while he was never gonna get in the ring again, until he got an offer from the Vory. They replaced his arms and made them bigger and badder than ever. With newfound confidence and backing from the Vory he fought to retake his title, eventually moving up enough to take down the troll that took his arms from him. He made a name for himself in the ring, and among the Vory. All the while his ego inflated more and more until he figured he needed bigger game than the ring. Rick set his sights on the shadows, and with a Vory Fixer they'd set him up with he made his way to being respected in the shadows as well.

Narratively Significant Qualities

Solid Rep, Vory - The Vory are pals of yours, so it's probably not in your best interest to fight them. Besides, if you do runs for them they might hook you up or pull your ass out of the fire when the drek hits the fan.

Poor Self Control (Braggart) - To a street boxer, your rep is one of the most import things you have. You earned your title enough to brag about it. Anyone challenging you doesn't know what they're talking about. Show em.

Superhuman Psychosis - You left the ring to find more worth opponents. When you see one, you'll be compelled to take them on,
