Summary

Rock/Popstar turned Shadowrunner to support her career while dealing with all the positives and negatives of her SURGE. Utilising her experience as street racer to help the team get away, while providing fire and scouting support via her drones, Nanao aka NeoNano, or Neon, or Nano... either of those works... dips her toes into the shadows!

Goals

• Improve her musical skills and make some Wiz Wax happen!
• Work on her Rigging skills and get a better control over anthrodrones like her body double (Note to Self: Buy that drone from Ray whenever possible, for... reasons...)
• Nuyen make the world go 'round...
• Buy back her yerzed out Mirage... eventually!
• More Drones to play with and supplement her options.
• Find a place/community where she can just be herself without her career blowing up or similar shit.

Background

Nanao always had a bit of a taste of what it meant to not quite belong, grown up half-japanese, half-american she often felt the stigma of not being entirely japanese. She eventually found her crowd amongst the speed demons and gearheads that her father tended to in his workshop. Getting into street racing incidentally turned out to not be Nanao's greatest passion, but kind of served as a gateway to it. Music had thus far been more of a thing in the background, something to chill out to while doing other stuff. Her first rock concert, that some of her buddies had to drag her to, changed that drastically! And while the road was bumpy at first, eventually she and some of her friends got some new identities and a band together and started out with some small-time gigs. They eventually moved to Seattle to pursue greater dreams, found a manager and began to steadily climb the ladder to fame as the 'AR Dreams'. Things were going great, days spent practicing and revelling in previously unknown luxuries, nights spent partying, rubbing elbows in the music scene, or performing!

And then everything changed... It had been a normal late evening practicing out in a remote warehouse at the edge of Seattle. None of them had heard the storm coming and once they did it was already too late. The mana anomaly ripped apart Nanao's friends in seconds and left her alive but forever changed. Her SURGE, not to mention the trauma of loosing her friends like that caused the young woman to isolate for some time to try and cope with it all... with... mixed results. Things were no longer going well as dealt with the fallout of the storm and everything it had changed. Her dream was almost destroyed, but in the end her manager stuck with her, though mostly out of necessity, too many Nuyen invested already after all, and thought of a way to save her career and even use the new situation. She already had experience rigging for her races, so moving to drone's would be a simple step. An anthrodrone was quickly founds and adjusted to look like her old self, statted out with all the necessary gear to serve as her double for concerts that she could no longer attend without likely loosing most of the old band's fans thanks to her new otherness. Creating a new image, Nanao was remarketed as 'Neon Rush', Rock and Pop with lots of Neon. The transition wasn't smooth in any way though and while she slowly gained momentum again, the cash didn't flow in quite how she had come to like it. When she eventually had to sell her beloved Mirage to keep afloat, a new plan had to be found to support her dream... and her sight soon set on the shadows to accomplish just that.

Appearance

Since her SURGE much has changed about her appearance, though her general shape stayed pretty much the same. Most noticeable is the long, prehensile tail extending from her tailbone, rather thick at the base and coming to a point at the end. She usually tries to hide it in her usual coat's special backpocket when going out to avoid the bad kind of attention. Aside that she ... still has kind of an unusual appearance... smooth, amethyst skin that very lightly glows in the dark, wine-red hair with a bright, neon pink, bioluminescent glow that is usually tied into a high ponytail, slightly pointed ears and curved horns. The most normal thing about her might be her amber eyes.

Clothing

Dressing for the job when necessary, her casual style often includes her favorite cap, face mask, crop top, leather pants and her jacket on top in Changeling-friendly areas, otherwise deaulting to a long coat. Every now and then there is some luminescent graffiti paint visible on her skin and clothes, at first mistakes from pursuing one of her hobbies, later on a fitting addition to her style.

Matrix Persona

She switches between various persona's depending on how she feels at the time and who she plans to interact with, including a version of her old self made of hard, everchanging neon light, a version of her new self with demonic wings and more pronounced horns, and a traditional japanese, female Oni in a Kimono.
