Background

Born June 15 2058, Kingston Ontario. Po's parents, Jennifer LeBlanc and Jean Martin, were Quebecois but moved to Ontario shortly after marriage. Jennifer was a professor of parabiology at Queen's University, while Jean was an attorney. Po led a pampered childhood with frequent visits to zoos and nature preserves as well as the law offices of Martin & Lewis. Adolescence was a bit stormier with magical awakening layered onto the typical rush of hormones. The influence of her mentor spirit was mixed, both provoking pranks and enhancing her ability to talk her way out out trouble. Much of the time. By the time Po moved onto high school her voice had really blossomed.

Kingston High School was not a complete teen aged nightmare. Glee club and leading roles in school plays don't carry the same cachet as cheerleading and athletics. Nonetheless Po's social skills and charm overcame the the nerdiness of her environmental and animal rights activism. Po wasn't the homecoming queen nor the prom queen but when she graduated in 2076 she was the valedictorian.

Po was drawn to the University of Toronto but the attraction of free tuition at Queen's University was too tempting. The DAN School of Drama and Music turned out to be an excellent choice for honing her skills as a singer and actress. Spring break of her freshman year was a consequential time; her social activism and magical abilities brought her to the attention of Carleton Moreau, a business associate of her father. Carleton hired her to help with a tricky business deal and was so impressed that he continued to contract with her through out her time at Queen's. At first she worked on business deals the became involved on the political and social side on Carleton's work with antifa and do-gooder groups.

Po graduated with a BA in Music Theatre in 2080 and faced a life decision. What now? Academia and the law were out. The thought of life as a corporate sarariman was repellent. She was a good performer but not a great performer. With further training she might be a success as a vocalist but a risky choice for food and rent. After consulting with family and friends she decided on mediation and negotiation for a livelihood, and social activism coupled with amateur artistic performance for self actualization. Carleton suggested the University of Washington's business school, partly on the strength of the program in bargaining & negotiations and partly on the prospect of future employment as he expanded his holdings in the metroplex.

Po's move to the Seattle metroplex from Kingston Ontario was stressful to say the least. A drop in her standard of living coupled with an increase in workload made for an unpleasant transition. The transition from legal advocacy to quasilegal advocacy to needing a fake 'work' identity was slow but inexorable. By the time she graduated with a Master of Business Administration degree in 2082, the majority of her work was in the shadows. Generally speaking her shadow work has been driven more by social activism than profit but as the song goes *...got mouths to feed and bills to pay and ain't nothin' in life for free*. Unfortunately animal rights activism is not a lucrative environment.

After graduation founded two firms. Voicing Your Concerns LLC, is a social advocacy firm with a great deal of pro bono work. Arcane Mediation LLC provides bargaining and negotiation services. Her shadow revenue gets laundered through fictitious clients. Even after being vetted and admitted to Shadowhaven Po doesn't think of herself as a "shadowrunner" but as a "social justice warrior".

Narrative Significant Qualities

Positive

Animal Empathy. Po has felt a special bond with animals from the earliest age. A variety of pets populated her house through out the years; dogs, cats, hamsters, guinea pigs, rats, birds, and a snake. Never insects, especially arachnids. Po developed respect for paranormal animals through her mother's academic work.

Bilingual. The word is mightier than the pen and the sword. Po wields them in both French and English with equal facility.

Mentor Spirit - Raven. The influence of Raven on Po has been a mixed blessing. Hard experience has taught Po to channel her darker impulses towards targets other than friends and comrades. Po considers work opponents as excellent candidates for exploiting misfortune to her own advantage. If it can be done through a clever trick or prank it is particularly satisfying.

Negative

Code of Honor - Warrior's Code. Po has an aversion to violence, especially lethal violence. Wetwork is unacceptable. Trickery is always preferable

Phobia - Spiders. Po's animal empathy doesn't extend to insects, Po has an indifferent attitude towards them. Spider's are frighteningly creepy. Especially the big web spinners and spider webs are just as bad as the damn spiders. Too many legs.
