Background

TLDR: Former NeoNET employee. SINless when NeoNET got dismantled. Her children couldn't cope. They joined gangs. Son injured and daughter disappeared. SeQueL blames corps and gangs.

Born in 2028, she was a still a young girl during the Night of Rage (2039). 20 years old (2048), Monica went to one of Maria Mercurials first concerts. When Dunkelzahn becomes president in 2057, Monica is 29 years old and works for Transys-Erika. She meets her husband and a year later gets pregnant. But something went wrong and she miscarries and was very sick.

2059-2061 Renraku Arcology Shutdown. Deus kills thousands. Monicas parents die because of an unknown matrix virus.

In 2061 a daughter is born (Anna). Two years later, she gets a brother (Eric). In 2064, while they both are still toddlers, the Matrix Crash 2.0 happens. Monica was for trapped for a while in the matrix and when she woke up, her abilities got even stronger. She somehow still succeeds to hide this from Transys Erika.

2064 Matrix Crash 2.0. Monica was for trapped for a while in the matrix and when she woke up, she had some strange abilities. She just "saw the code" of the matrix. She was a Technomancer. Fortunately, she did not have the telltale symptoms. (No schizofrenia, etc.) She heard rumors of "disappearances" and hid/did not use her abilities as best she could.

A year later NeoNET is created, merging Transys Erika with Novatech. She knows a bit what her employer (and probably other corps) are doing to technomancers and do everything she can to avoid being detected. Ashamed she can't help those poor people being experimented on, Monica avoids most work directly related to the Resonance. Her dislike for the corps grows, but she stays for her childrens sake.

2066-67 Monica actually worked on the first gen Commlinks. She thinks she at one point met with the head of R&D, Celedyr (in human form), but could be mistaken. Nothing comes of it. The family is quite happy. Children starts corp school.

Late 2070s CFD starts rearing it's ugly head. In 2076 Boston gets quarantined. In 2079 NeoNET is dismantled because of CFD. Monica and family SINless and unemployed. A former colleague contacts her for "work". Her children can't cope with not being under the corp umbrella. Joins the wrong people (gangs). Son is nearly killed in a shootout. Daughter runs away when she accidentally discovers mom is a "terrorist". Monica blames the corps.

2081-> Now?

Wears a fine Berwick dress with AR fashion or a long cardigan. This under a sturdy jacket with fake fur linings and a detachable hood.
