Summary

Shonen is a simple man, quite capable with his katana, and has made a vow to only use his blade to continue to forge his skills, hone his reflexes, and carry on the techniques of his forefathers, however outdated they may be.

Background

Sato Hajime is the son of a long line of sword masters, men and women who still hold onto the traditions of the ancient samurai. Haji, as his friends would call him, was next in line to be head of the family, until one day, simply through poor fate, he was involved in a horrific car accident, completely shattering his body almost killing him. Haji woke to the sound of an EKG monitor, he could hardly feel anything from the neck down. His father and mother was there, looking at his condition in horror, for they knew that their son, one who prided himself on his martial prowess, one who wanted to carry on the traditions, who worked so hard to be the head of the family...would be lucky if he could ever walk again. Days passed with him in that bed, chained by the shackles of his own inability to move, until one day the doctors approached him and his parents with an offer, a near full body replacement. Haji's parents were, his father especially, were at first outraged. The thought of replacing their sons own flesh and blood with chrome and circuits, he would be more man than machine, but Haji quickly stopped them. He called his father to his bedside "Father, please do not curse me to this pitiful existence, I can hardly breath on my own, even if i can no longer be the family head, at least let me be of use, let me be a warrior again...please."

Narrative Significant Qualities

Positive

Battle Hardened and Tough as Nails: Shonen spent many nights being sent to the floor by sparring partners in his families dojo, yet no matter how many time we was knocked down, he rarely ever stayed.

Redliner: Shonen has always believed that "If one is skilled enough, things like danger and risk should pose no concern, as they would only affect those that fail." to this effect, it has led him to max out his Cyberware, giving him a further edge in combat where he would need it, and his skill and ability would would counter any drawback to it

Negative

Code of Honor: In his family, any who take up the mantle of samurai would also swear themselves to it's code, to always face an adversary head on, to always allow them the opportunity to arm themselves, and to only kill those that arm themselves against you.
